If you are talking about the IPSW of 15.7 for iPhone 8, then it is here

Personally I didnt experience any bug with neither 15.6.1 nor 15.7, but as always YMMV. I would say, why don't give 15.7 a shot when 15.6.1 is still being signed? You can fall back to 15.6.1 now if you got anything nasty with 15.7
Wait wait wait… how did you get the IPSW, if it’s not a National Security Top Secret?

I mean, I need to know it’s a link to Apple’s genuine servers.

Didnt I said it already? The JB community have found a way to access the stock firmware, and they are spread over different places that I posted already
I also got error when trying restoring in iTunes in the ordinary way, but I managed to do a fresh 15.7 install with iTunes, with ipsw downloaded here
Also, you can see the link started with "https://updates.cdn-apple.com/", which points to the Apple server. If anything other than the general availability channel from Apple (OTA or direct iTunes firmware offer) is too much for you, you don't have to take this route, I posted these just because I believe some who know what they are doing may find it useful, and I do not assume any responsibility for any potential damage even the risk is so minimal that it is from the official Apple.

This is what I used to update my iPhone 13 Mini to 15.7 via iTunes. No issues.

Likewise, I feel that the phone/animations are snappier and battery life is better.
Running really smooth on my 13P , I'm planning on holding off until 16.1 is released

Okay, so… sorry, I had to check the URL, security first, and…

…Yeah, it seems those URLs point to Apple’s servers.
I think I can trust that IPSW file.

Thank you pal!

Do you think this update will be available to downgrade from iOS 16 in coming weeks? 15.7’s ipsw can be used to downgrade?

I do think so… until Apple stops signing it, that’s it.

When will Apple stop signing it? I guess they will stop signing 15.6.1 sooner than later, maybe today, maybe Monday. As for 15.7, maybe they keep signing it until iOS 16.1, but they are all assumptions at this point.

Can someone provide the link to ipsw for iPhone 11 Pro Max on cdn-apple server listed above, or share how to look for the specific devices I have?

Thanks...

Just downgraded from 16 to 15.7 and plan on staying here for a long time.

Links are legit. It’s not like you can just install a custom firmware on a modern iPhone.

Technically speaking, you can still install CFW on (some) modern iPhone, but definitely not randomly by an average user accidentally. You need to stay on a specific old firmware (such as 14.8), side-load a jailbreak app (which not average users have an idea about), so if you mean "just", then you are correct, the process is no way as simple as buying a candy from the App Store.

im on 14.4.1 and planing to update to 15.7 with my 12 mini. Battery health is 82%. Im wondering if i go to 15.7 will the battery get worse?

Does anybody wish they stayed on 15.5 for life? 😆 I wish there was a way to downgrade to an unsigned version of iOS

There are some bugs with 15.7, last night i updated from 14.4.1 - 12 mini. I have the feeling that ios 14 was much faster and clean..

fwiw, 15.6.1 is by far the best battery performance I've experienced since early 14. I probably won't upgrade to 15.7. Just wish I could get rid of the big red nag.

Maybe you should copy your photos on an external drive and restore your iPhone using your computer. A clean install, without Time Machine backups and stuff.

Dfu Restore mate.I dont update via OTA, only iTunes. Without back up, only icloud photos.

I’m sorry then for your bad experience. I honestly don’t know what else to tell you.
iOS 15 has never been as smooth as 14 for me either, but it hasn’t been as bad as what you’re experiencing. Maybe you could wait a bit and install iOS 16.1 once it is released? Or maybe wait until 16.2 or 16.3, I don’t know

Upgraded to 15 because i had 14.7 and I had some kinda storage glitch that was eating up my all my space no matter what I did. I figured since it was nice on my phone it would be cool on my iPad . Big ****ing mistake, I hate my iPad now. I hate how little control you have over your device when it comes to deciding which iOS you want if you change your mind or need to . And they can sign old iOS if they wanted to, they update iPhone 6 with iOS 12 with updates so they of course are signing old iOSes until they completely phase out

That is Apple.. They always do the same thing. Friend of mine just bought samsung s22 for 650 euros with 3 amazing cameras , 120Hz display , 3700mAh, but the new iphone 14 does not have 120hz display... No words!
