Not a fan of the new Safari… but I’m talking strictly aesthetics here. Functionality is an improvement, as new iOS versions usually are (complainers and “the underwhelmed” be damned).

Having said that, I do agree with someone earlier than iOS is becoming a bit cluttered and less intuitive. I want more powerful features, but better tutorials and clearer methods for activating/deactivating certain features would do wonders for less technical users. I can see this becoming a problem for some of Apple’s user base who are more comfortable with Apple’s historically “super simple” and “it just works” philosophy.

I mean, I’m a developer and I’m not sure what the hell is going on with Notifications and Focus… 🤣

Could someone check the do not disturb / focus / messages settings and see if you can disable the ability for someone to override send notifications even if your in DND. I can see this being abused by work and iMessage scams.
You are allowed to enable/disable notification overrides

I hate the new notifications look. The giant icons look cramped. I like how elegant the smaller icons looked. Hopefully there’s a way to disable the big icons.

Seems like developers can implement console controller UI (Dualshock etc) right into their app and you can select apps in homescreen by using only your controller

I bet I am the first person to have to do a system restore. Installed it on my iPad Pro 2021 11" and it didn't even get past the hello page before it begin showing my a spinning ring with the screen constantly flashing. My theory is that something broke due to it being hooked up via thunderbolt to an external monitor. Nothing seemed to fix it.
Mine is doing the same!

This sounds good… didn’t get a mention in the WWDC. Built in password Authenticator. Be gone google. This will auto paste a code in. Boom

I’ve set it up with several sites and it works great. Just a quick FaceID activation and it pastes the code in automatically.

Airplane mode animation has changed in the top right corner of the screen. The airplane now flies off to the right when disabling Airplane mode 😂 Pretty sure it didn't do that in iOS 14

I haven't seen anything yet on watchOS 8. Are there any new watch faces or differences with complications that you've noticed?
App icons, redesigned app layer, new items, people and devices app, new things in some apps.

Does it sync across your devices (if you have Monterey or iPad/iOS 15 installed)? I would assume so, but would like confirmation.

Can someone verify if there's no longer a way to de-integrate Do Not Disturb from watchOS 8 and iOS 15?

We used to be able to turn on DND on one device and disable it from automatically going to the other device, I no longer seem to be able to do that anywhere in the Watch settings.

Anyone?

Update: I can disable it from the Focus settings on Watch, but NOT from the Watch app on iOS... Weird 🤷‍♂️

Ok Focus and Notification Summary are a mess. I have no idea what these settings even mean and what I have just set up. Going to wait for a YouTube tutorial I guess 💁🏼‍♂️

maybe I also just don’t get the point of these Settings or my life is too boring lol either I am available, or I am not

developer.apple.com is struggling a ton. Will have to wait. Considering it's a W-build I suppose I will wait this one out for the time being. Nothing of the new stuff is interesting enough for me to risk installing such a early build.

No idea how the Apple Music stuff is supposed to work either. It was going to be made available today, but on iOS 14.6 and iOS 14.7 BETA2 we still lack any options for setting Apple Lossless under Setting on iOS and iPadOS so I'm not sure how we are supposed to enable those tiers of quality? The Settings.app can't be updated "on-the-fly" by Apple can it?

The Apple Music stuff is server side, as the device side got the functionality is iOS 14.5 or 14.6 (I forget which exactly)

Really? I initially read on a 3rd party site that the air2 is not supported. Good to know ;)
From Apple themselves:

Any apps that aren’t working?

You allow which of your contacts and applications can show notifications when your focus setting is at work or personal. You can allow automatic activation (wonder how reliable that would be) or manually do it from control centre. You can even set what should be your home screen for different focus settings.
