Frequently Visited Sites and now also iCloud Tabs, not showing up at all for me on my iPhone 12 Pro.

I’m also seeing the same Black Screen issue with the Messages app not working while connected to CarPlay. Here’s hoping any issues addressed with this week’s beta don’t just introduce even more bugs. 🤪🤞

funny how this stuff happens over time and not apparent at the beginning of the beta. Makes me thinks it’s iCloud being tampered with effecting only iOS 15 users, that could, be creating the issue/syncing tabs and maybe message data not coming through crashing the app. I don’t know, That’s a pure guess work. Very odd though. And not fun. 😬

Strange how some people are having issues and some aren’t, especially when everyone is running the same beta. 🤔
Some people run their phones with stock apps, and some people (like me) have well over 500 apps installed. Plus people on different devices, different settings in place.. lots of variables here just because people might be running the same beta build.

I remember reading way back in the iOS 12 days or so that Apple has a separate backend for beta testers to connect to for various services and stuff. Of course I can’t find that link now to back this up. But the tl;dr is that Apple moves their back end over to the corresponding update in a sort of phased approach. So at some point during the beta testing process, you end up going from connecting to a stable back end to a not as stable back end. They’ve gotta test things, too.

Not a bad idea, but I'm not at home to do so. The wifi here is terrible.
Do you also use an Apple Watch? If so, I’ve had issue trying to get re-paired again if you don’t also restore the watch, too. Backup watch by unpairing and then restore iPhone, then re-setup watch. If no watch, ignore me :)

Great... now the Phone app is starting to take a while to load.

Edit: And Siri+Volume Up doesn't work, nor does tapping on the Settings app (to attempt to restart). I had to say Hey Siri before the power menu appeared (along with Siri).

Can someone tell me...

Did I screw up my Apple Pay by logging into my iCloud account on a spare iOS 15 device? My main iPhone is iOS 14.6 and I accidentally signed into my iCloud account on my iPhone SE2 on iOS 15. I hope I didn't screw anything up.

I've read on here that iOS 15 and 14 don't really get along with Apple Pay.

It shouldn't be an issue. I have an ipad on 15 and my phone is on 14, both are signed into the same icloud account. The issue I believe you are mentioning was an issue on the same device when someone rolled back to 14. The fix in that regard was to remove the card from the "My Wallet" app, then re-add the card as "New."

PS. I did this personally, when I restored back to 14 from 15 beta 2.

Yesterday in my car, my stereo’s volume knob and steering wheel volume buttons were ONLY controlling the Siri voice, not any music. And there was no Siri activated.

I’ve had no issues with Apple Pay on iOS 14 or iOS 15, and your post is the first I’ve heard of any issue related to that.

No, it‘s very common for betas to „**** the bed“ in terms of performance and bugs popping up over time. That‘s why reporting „this is so stable“ after 24h of use is no good indicator. Give it a try for a week and chances are your devices performance went down the toilet or has at the very least shown hiccups that may or may not stick around until a new beta arrives.

Rule of thumb is: if a restart fixes it, it‘s probably the beta acting up over time.

Generally speaking, Apple is failing big time on issues anyway related to cloud computing.
They are miles behind Amazon, Google, and even Microsoft as far as cloud services are concerned.

I've seen that a lot with Waze betas... the only fix I've found is to reboot the head unit (on Ford/SYNC3, hold POWER and FAST FORWARD buttons until you see the logo)... even then, the fix is temporary... One other thing that worked on occasion was to invoke Siri and while she was speaking, adjust the volume... but, yeah, that appears to be a beta thing.

The issue is that the software is hanging onto the prompt, so you cannot get to the audio volume to adjust it.

There is literally nothing coming even remotely close to the whole iCloud backup and the vast variety of content syncing mechanisms Apple provides for their devices.

Apple Music kills Spotify with the recent lossless / spatial audio freebie (which Spotify wants / wanted to charge for, no idea what their plans are now).

iMessage is still the de facto peak messaging platform sadly tied to Apple devices (and thus dead outside the US). Google tries to catch up with the open standard RCS, but it‘s still a mess and doesn‘t have proper E2EE as part of the Universal Standard profile. FaceTime is cool I guess?

Stuff like Health sharing is going to be big I‘d wager.

Saying they‘re behind cloud services is exaggerating.

Features for me are not the issue - Apple does a good job on providing those and embedding the B/U options. What I have issues with is reliability. I can not count on Apple's Cloud services to be there when I need the 100% of the time. I would use them more if they did. I use them for my iPhone and iPad B/U but keep a main copy on my MBP. I use the iCloud, I just plan on it failing and keep an alternative option.

Lossless? I need a headphone jack for that which Apple pushed to have removed.
Wish I could default Messages to another app like .. Signal. Or Telegram.
Facetime - too many Android friends, relatives, and peers. Zoom and Teams works great. Duo isn't bad either.

btw, there are a number of great B/U options on the Android side.

Both sides have options. Good options. just wish iCloud was more dependable.

No service is ever 100%.

True.
Sadly my "luck" with iCloud has been my worst of all the cloud services.
Google, Amazon, OneDrive, even Dropbox has been better.
Agree, that’s the reason why I haven’t switched to iCloud, sticking to my Mac for backups, not fun watching iCloud play hide and seek with your contacts names whenever it feels like it. 🤦‍♂️

Been happening ever since iCloud got launched and they still haven’t fixed it.

Safari on iOS for me still doesn’t show Frequently Visited sites. It did initially but at some point yesterday that section went missing and hasn’t returned regardless of what I’ve tried.

I’m also just now realizing that there’s no way to long press the refresh icon and choose to reload without content blockers. Because there’s no refresh icon. And pressing … and THEN tap & holding reload does nothing accept reloads the page when you let go. I hate this new Safari more and more each day…

I don’t think you screwed anything up. And on 15 with no Apple Pay issues at all.
