Anyone able to unlock Apple Watch with iPhone? Can’t get it to work on this beta. Checked all my settings.

edit: nevermind it now works and there’s a new “lock” option in the unlock banner.

I doubt any banking apps such as HSBC will be fixed until September when iOS 15-compatible app updates are released :(

Every year - the same posts and the same misunderstanding.

Developers are free to release updates right now to resolve incompatibility with iOS 15 although they are discouraged from mentioning iOS 15 in their release notes. In the case of the HSBC/First Direct apps either they're using an API call that has been deprecated in iOS 15 or something is just broken in the beta. The app developers will either release an update to restore compatibility or Apple will fix the beta. Either of these things can happen at any point.

What developers cannot do is release apps using new iOS 15 APIs and frameworks until the public release.

After a hard reset, iCloud settings load faster, but now private relay is hidden.
Edit: back and in to iCloud again makes it appear, also, is faster than the first time after reboot

It seems banking apps break more than others when the betas come out. Does this mean Apple is updating security APIs banks tend to use?

I'm just wondering why this category seems more affected than most.
The bank app I use does work perfectly across major iOS beta release. Seems that developers of your bank app needs to up their game and stop using random API or functions to Bandaid their apps to make them work.

Setting Private Relay to “Use Country and Timezone” takes me to Amsterdam from Pennsylvania. Too bad I can’t sue them for round trip tickets🤷🏻‍♂️
Which means private relay works so perfectly it becomes pseudoVPN now. :D

Yeah...I never understand how those huge banks don't work, but my dinky local bank app never has an issue across any beta I've installed.

Get a content blocker for safari, I got Mozilla Firefox focus, best app I’ve gotten, battery life is awesome again and no heat, best of all no stupid ads.safari loads amazingly quick.
So that’s the cause of the MacRumors battery drain? The ads? I don’t use content blockers.

This site never gave me problems until iOS 15…but now I have to stay away because it drains my battery insanely fast.

Yep, a few people on here have used the same content blocker and their battery life is awesome again, no more heat and sites load way faster, also installed it on my iPad, download it from the App Store, free app, turn off don’t send data, and enable it in safari settings.

finishing the day with 50-60% battery life left and the phone doesn’t even get warm anymore. 🥶

Why don’t you use content blockers?

Possibly... and sometimes, for security reasons, banking apps (and some others) check the version number of the iOS and refuse to run on unauthorized versions... was a big thing back when jailbreaking was the rage... one would imagine because hacked, cracked and beta software may not be as safe and secure as fully vetted versions. It's all fun and games until a security flaw allows some bad actor to wipe out your bank account.

I tried them when they first came to iOS but, I dunno, I don’t really care about seeing the ads and I hate having extra apps on my phone just for stuff like that.

They are a lot better now, love how much faster websites load 👌Best of all no battery drain 👌 can’t use my iPhone or iPad without one anymore.

Throw the app in a folder or hide it in App Library 😂
