Three days ago I jump aboard the ios 15 beta in my 2019 12.9 inch iPad Pro. At first I was very impressed with how fluid it was for a beta. Minor bugs but nothing horrible. Then last night I did a reboot because I was having issues with my keyboard case and thought a reboot might help. This caused me to get stuck in a boot loop. Thankfully I had backups and I was able to DFU restore using iTunes and then restored back to my ios 14 backup. However I’m still curious to give ios 15 some more beta time on my my iPad. Is this wise? Will I just end up in another boot loop? Do some bugs and errors work themselves out and not be an issue upon a fresh install of the beta? I just wanted to gather others thoughts before I try it again. Thanks in advance!

I also had a few issues with it. Out of nowhere I lost volume altogether. Nothing would give any sound no matter what I did. It just all of a sudden happened and a reboot wouldn’t fit it. I think I’m gonna wait until the next dev beta comes out before I reload it back on my iPad Pro.

Tried a hard reboot on mine when I lost sound on my M1 iPad, didn’t fix the issue, powered it off for 30 seconds fixed it for me.

Hey what‘s up man! Thanks, when I reload it I’ll try that if it happens again. Appreciate it. Question, did you have any issues with any iPhones apps not rotating landscape with your M1? Mainly Tik Tok. I put it iPadOS15 on my wife’s M1 and it won’t rotate landscape but will on my 2020 iPad Pro.

The sound issue never came back after powering off my iPad, can’t help you with the iPhone apps, don’t use them on my iPad, maybe someone else on here can help you with that one.

Got an email from Apple this morning about “trying out their betas”

wonder if their seeing a drop in participants?!? If people are going by how much the battery health % gets battered on these betas… might be lowering numbers as these devices, I would say price point wise, are luxury items, in this a broken monetary s and desperate economic state.

Got the same email, bit late to the party apple, been rocking PB since day 1 😎😂

Don’t think it’s a drop in participants, they most likely send it out to people who have registered their devices into the beta program previously.

Rocking most of the betas from 14. to 15, battery health still 100%

I reckon battery health isn’t accurate at all.

I think it is because it is stable enough 1/2 way through the beta cycle and that we are moving to weekly updates this upcoming week as well as nearly simultaneous developer and public releases.

Strictly from an iPad standpoint, are you all seeing any real reason to run the this beta? I was thinking of reloading it, but then thought “Why, it really isn’t any different than iPad OS 14 outside of the widgets and App Library.” Just curious if I’m missing some things here.

And the new safari, that’s about it.

Ok, thanks. Yeah I wasn’t sure if I was missing something. I know there are some smaller tweaks but didn’t know if I wasn’t seeing something that wasn’t there or not utilizing it to its fullest.

Think it is a mass mail to encourage participation. Kinda makes me wonder why …

Received it as well, and I am on the public beta already (though only for my iPad, not my phone). My guess echoes the poster above me. Not so much that there's insufficient testers (better that than people complain about their devices being buggy from running beta software), but that Apple has deemed their beta software stable enough to roll out to more people.

FACE ID I have found this to be a bit temperamental with some apps, as it asks me to manually login every time even though this setting is on. Not because Face ID is buggy though.

One of my apps support is awesome and they are aware of this issue in iOS 15 and suggested having prefer cross-fade transitions turned off, as it can create a hick up with Face ID login. I turned it off and Face ID works buttery smooth again for that app. Will turn it back on once the final is out and apps have updated.

if this is effecting any of you, give it a go, also turning Face ID in app setting off and on again can be a fix too I’ve found.

Just watched that. I can’t be bothered. Too much hassle.

Maybe they should make the beta feedback easier. I get fed up half way through and give up…

Not coming at you, just so we’re clear, but sounds like you need to put a touch more effort in if your on these betas buddy 👍🏼
