I seem to be refreshing a lot of pages. My average sized thumbs keep hitting refresh instead of the url to call up the address bar. Ugh.

Yep. A lot of people are having this problem. This tweet really sums it up:

There’s a total of *six* different touch targets in the iOS 15 beta 4 tab bar in Safari. These exclude the ability to long-press the tab bar, swipe across it to change tabs, and swipe it up to open the Tabs view. I’m…starting to think a single, small toolbar just won’t do.

And this response is seriously damning against Apple's own design principles:

I really do appreciate the experimentation, but the new Safari feels like something I’d take to the UI Design Labs at WWDC and they’d push me to use native controls that users expect and already know, have better tap targets, & stop cramming too many things in a small space.

Look at how busy and cluttered it can get 😂 this was such an unnecessary design fail. There was little wrong with Safari prior to this.

don't know why people are having so many issues with them moving the search bar to the bottom of Safari. yes, it took me a few weeks to adjust, but from the very beginning I knew that it was much better this way so the frustration re-learning it was worth it lmao. the less you have to reach all around the place, the better. I guess I'll know more in time re: the clutter, but I've been navigating since the beta came out and don't think I've mis-pressed yet. and I have very large hands/fingers lol. we'll see.

my main gripe was refresh and share, and that's been fixed now. very happy.

How is beta 4 for everyone overall? I know, expect some bugs and issues, but is it overall okay? Debating whether or not to update a production iphone, haha.

pretty solid for me. The bugs that bothered me in my B3 comments with safari have been fixed.

connectivity with the new firmware change is now rapid on my 12. Finding Mail pops open and it’s checked mail, fast! Normally this lags randomly and I have to turn WiFi on/off when the phones been asleep.

no battery drain.

GEEKBENCH just used as a barometer for performance on these betas, has been rock solid consistent on 15. Didn’t bore you with one on B3, but B4 coming in just as strong. Looking good 👍🏼

(on my 12 anyway)

(I'm quoting your twitter quote.)

I've been using Firefox for a long time, mainly as that's what I use on my laptop and things sync well, but all this stuff I can now do using the new Safari address bar ... I've just had a play and I really like it!

Feels really nice this beta. Silky, gliding around the iOS. Really impressed for a B4 in comparison. They went to town on Safari in those 2 weeks.

Love they’ve brought in-line the Apps update page stylistically. Been waiting for that since B1. 🥳

My Apps definitely loading faster, properly.
