random question. I installed iOS 15 and reset all settings (not content) and now apps like Spotify or Lime randomly give me a pop up while I am using my iPhone to always use location in the background even tho I have background refresh completely off all together. Does that mean apps occasionally run in the background even tho I do not use them? Seems strange to get this random pop up of another apps location services while using a completely different app or while being on the Home Screen
I have not seen this personally but I do remember early on in the development on iOS 15(beta 1 and 2), apps would still be reporting "Screen off" time with background app refresh disabled for them. Have you checked to see if that is the case with the Spotify and Lime apps? Another thing I can think of is if any API is calling either app, whether a link, or if you maybe changed the "default" music app, or something like that. Have you noticed it with any other apps?

Personally, I only keep background enabled for core apple apps and disable it for everything else(Unless I forget to) and I have only seen such warnings on apps that I use or allow like the weather app and so on and so forth. The only exception to that is that I do use the tile app and for some reason, that little booger seems to want to run whether background is enabled or not.

iCloud message sync has never worked correctly for me. I ended up just disabling it on my iPad and only use it on my iPhone
Same here. It shows 200 mb in storage but when I tap on it there are no attachments and when I check iCloud storage, it shows 4 GB of messages but when I click on it, it shows 2 mb like ??? I just want to get rid of ALL attached images. Why is there no DELETE ALL button for messages attachments in the long list of photos either

I can’t reproduce the bar hiding the edit button either, I even jacked up the font to 200 % to see if that would hide it and it didn’t .. my phone is a 12PM
Guessing it has something to do with my favorites I’ve got a lot on my start page. 🤔

You should follow up statements like this with "in my opinion" as everybody is entitled to one of those, though I can't imagine many will agree with it.
Everyone’s opinion is personal. Please get over it. We are not going to tag every post as IMHO.

I’ve got 17 favorites on my start page, guessing that is the problem.
It's definitely possible, I only have 8, but I have a bunch of other things on the home screen of Safari like "Shared with you," "Frequently Visited,"Privacy Report," "Reading list," and "From X Device" so it is hard to say. If it really bugs you, I would clear all of the cache in Safari, just note that your history, open tabs, and saved logins will be wiped out by doing this.

How many shared with you links do you have ? I have 20 and about 10 favorites only
Favorites was the problem, when you have too many, the edit button overlaps the address bar, nice one apple. 🙄🤦‍♂️😂

Now the edit button is siting in Mt Everest😂

Turned shared with you off in safari, my OCD was kicking in, looks messy 😂

Glad to hear that you solved it but I would still report the bug to apple.

I'm from the camp of "I like the bottom tab bar", but glad they brought back the antique version for others :).

But! Bit annoyed that they removed the new landscape tab bar from beta 6 on the iPhone SE 2020, (it was there in beta 5). I use an an iPhone mini as my main device, so it's sticking on iOS 14 until 15 is out, and I can't see if the new look tab bar and option in Safari Settings is there for it. Maybe it's a screen size thing or something, but I hope they don't take it away from the 12 mini. Could anyone check for me, please?

In Safari Settings I see that some have the option for a landscape mode. but it's just not there in beta 6, and if I choose either tab view (bottom or top), it still just shows the same address bar alone at the top, but again, I really liked the just tabs at the top in landscape.

Will send feedback.

Cheers!

P.s. adding a second iCloud account still isn't working for me. And the update reset my WiFi custom DNS settings to automatic. Sent feedback about the iCloud issue.

It’s a lot bigger when scrolling back up. 🤦‍♂️ A lot of wasted space where they can make it smaller. 🤦‍♂️

We can’t pinch with 2 fingers on a safari page to close it anymore 🤦‍♂️😡 APPLE stop removing handy features 🤦‍♂️
I just realized this too. This was one of the more used features for me. Definitely big steps back in Beta 6. This is very unlike Apple. It is clear regression. Did you report it? I will submit the feedback as well.

Yeah, that is true. Seems to be a bit of wildness on the Safari developer team. Still, it's nice to see them experimenting, and hopefully they get the right combo for its proper release. The earlier betas had Safari options so buried away that you'd need a JCB to find them, but now seems to be back to normal.
