Betas scare people. I took my laptop in to Apple recently to look at a keyboard backlight issue. They told me they'd first need to delete Monterey and re-install Big Sur before they'd look at it. I told them I'll come back when Monterey is officially released :) I've got 9 months of warranty left, so no rush.

might just be policy to cover themselves from any unpredictability 🤓

Seems like something is chewing up the battery in the background.

At least your carrier hasn’t turned your phone into a iPod, can only receive calls from people on the same network. 🤦‍♂️

Giving them a few more days before I lodge a complaint and take them to the ombudsmen. 🥊

I don’t want to open up a can on worms here, but new betas sometimes come with new network provider firmwares. Sure it’s not because your on an unreleased official version of that?!? So it would be the betas fault, not carrier.

True, but I put my SIM card in 2 different phones running iOS 14, didn’t make a difference. 🤔🧐📱

Anyone else have this bug in Apple Music?

- Leave the iPhone idle preferably overnight
- Open Music
- Skip to next track a few times before hitting Play
- Then hit Play

Music plays the track that was current when you first open the app instead of the track it’s skipped to.

Happens every time on my 11 Pro.

Anyone else been getting amazingly good battery life? I last charged to 100% yesterday at 07:47 and I'm still at 62% with my normal amount of usage. Normally by now I'd be at about 30-40% if I didn't charge overnight.

Here’s a new one: anyone see the airplane mode indicator on the Home Screen while not engaged and connected to cellular? But using an app shows cellular. Going back to Home Screen shows airplane.

Or maybe this one? Open Feedback to start need report and select iOS/iPad. It tries to gather Apple Watch. Cancel it. Start inputting title and then gathering feedback fails.

Is this new or have I missed this before? Open Feedback to start new. Select iOS/iPad but it has attachments for this iPhone or my MBP M1 auto-selected?

Mine has been exceptional on B7. My usual morning routines vary very little and took it down to upper 70's to low 80's percent remaining. Now it ends up in the mid to upper 80% range. Very pleased.

INSANE BATTERY ALERT

Took my phone of charge at 10:20am. Onscreen nearly 4hrs. Battery has gone down 9%. Full day and I’ve got 91% battery left.

what have they only just discovered at Apple to get battery life, how it should be finally?

ironic I turned Optimised Battery Charge off, and started getting better battery. Or just blind coincidence.

That screen ON time is for the past 24 hours. You’ve barely touched your phone since you took it off the charger. So not really insane!

The firmware might have done something to the SIM card, which means the sim won’t work in iOS 14 anyway. New sim in an iOS 14 phone, should be fine.
What if apple update the firmware in the next beta, will that correct my SIM card?

Interesting. I think I'm having worse battery life than the last few betas, on my XS
I am having a similar experience on my XS. Gave ”Reset All Settings” a shot this morning. Curious to see if that will make a difference. Battery life on the past 2 or 3 betas was spectacular even with my XS’s battery healthy down to 80%.

I also noticed that the MacRumors forum was heating my phone back up. This seemed to be fixed a few betas ago for me but looks like its back in Beta 7. That may be the answer to my battery woes in Beta 7 but even when avoiding MacRumors on my XS it still seemed to be a tad worse than previous Betas. Anyone else have a similar experience?

Battery percentage indicator drops slower from 100% and speeds up as the battery goes down. I’ve had my phone stay on 100% for 2 hours before but lose 1% every 5-10 minutes around 30%.

From 10am till 6pm, used my phone a couple of hours today…. only to drop 9%! Not seen that before. Insane to me.
In your prior post you mentioned a 4hr screen ON time as shown in the screenshot for a 9% drain. I’m saying what you see in the screenshot is over the entire highlighted period which is approx 24 hrs.

I know it sucks bud I have read on an iOS 14 battery thread that several users have found success when wiping their phone back to factory, including all content. Then reconfigure as needed. If you do this, don't restore the backup, or you will be wasting your time. If you use icloud, most things like photos, text messages, notes, ext.

If you want to do this, I would definitely create a local backup first, that way if it does not help, you can alwasys revert to where you were prior.

Possibly, no way to know for sure.
Interesting, I’ll wait for the next beta, if it’s still not working, I’ll get a spare phone with a new sim and do some more trouble shooting 🧐📱 still reckon it’s my carrier. 🤔

Yep, same thing happened to me when I got my screen replaced for green tint, they wouldn’t touch it unless they uninstalled iOS 15, they treat these betas like they’re android. 😬🙄🤦‍♂️
Official Apple diagnostics passed during repair process does not work with beta versions, so better obey employees than bricking your out of warranty device 😉

More than happy to obey the rules, glad they changed that garbage Samsung screen, lovely customer service as always.

Not sure if this happens with all 3rd party messaging apps but I’ve found a bug with WhatsApp where if you have announce messages on, and you receive a message, Siri repeats the same message twice, every time.
