12 ProMax - battery is all over the place.
Why? No idea.

I’ve got rock solid decline. Not rubbing that in your face. It’s been a tiny tiny drop off during the night. Got 52% left as I type. Took it off the charger yesterday morning 10am. iP12

Rogue app doing something it shouldn’t left open in app switcher maybe?!? Not sure if that would always work correctly and show up in app usage if its playing up. Just saying, not sure how trustworthy app battery usage can be on a beta. Widgets could be another avenue?!? I’d try closing out of your apps for a day. If that’s not better, drop your widgets for the next day, is what I would do to home in. Just some thoughts, you’ve probably already given ago.

Looks like I can log into Chase again with FaceID!

unfortunately, Chase and CapitalOne still delete the token/credential stored on the phone after 24/48 hours- requiring re-enrollment of the device with text verification or similar. Chase said my same device was enrolled 8 times, Similar for CapitalOne.

To compare, Bank of America and Goldman Sachs remain able to login. It must be related to Apple’s new way to store credential or token…

I opened a Chase and also a CapitalOne trouble ticket. Both banks called me back for more info… Apple didn’t yet respond.

still having trouble with data connectivity as a Sprint customer using a T-Mobile R15 SIM. This requires rebooting every 15 mins while driving. I’ve given up on this though- T-Mobile’s migration of Sprint is atrocious.

I am having a similar experience on my XS. Gave ”Reset All Settings” a shot this morning. Curious to see if that will make a difference. Battery life on the past 2 or 3 betas was spectacular even with my XS’s battery healthy down to 80%.

I also noticed that the MacRumors forum was heating my phone back up. This seemed to be fixed a few betas ago for me but looks like its back in Beta 7. That may be the answer to my battery woes in Beta 7 but even when avoiding MacRumors on my XS it still seemed to be a tad worse than previous Betas. Anyone else have a similar experience?
Odd, my XSM is having really good battery life on this beta. Same for my AW4C.

Probably. Every year there’s complaints about battery life and battery health.
Generally all of the logging is still enabled up until the RC, so things might seem “stable”, but the battery could still be draining from some log file being generated in the background.

Interesting. I think I'm having worse battery life than the last few betas, on my XS

same issue started with Beta 3/4. Persists today. I had a AppleCare call with a rep and during the 25 minute call, battery went from 27% to 3%. Battery health was 82%.

“nothing” was wrong according to diagnostics but I had the phone replaced under AppleCare. The issue went away with the new phone.

I still believe battery problems are related to the TMobile sim bouncing between 6 different TMO/Sprint networks (and my SIM) when Settings > Cellular > Automatic System Selection is turned ON.

im also not suggesting changing this setting, T-Mobile seems to have several sprint, T-Mobile, and clearwire networks overlapping. you will loose service if you travel out of the serving cell site’s area if you set it to manual. It’s not a good implementation. This issue doesnt seem to occur on Xfinity (Verizon) or att SIM cards.

I’ll get 11-12 one day, 8-9 the next. Usage is pretty much normal - for me. Nothing stands out in Battery.
Then again it has only been a few days.

Seeing the same with Chase.

Exactly, which is why I never pay attention to battery issue posts usually, as they’re just kinda a waste of time.

Every time I mention in one of these posts that I’m planning on wiping my iPhone and starting with a fresh install once iOS *current* is released, people always 😧 at my posts.. like, come on. We’re running beta software for a while, makes sense to be sure you’ve got no lingering issues you know? Space being taken up by log files that should have been cleared out is only one reason.

INSANE BATTERY ALERT

Took my phone of charge at 10:20am. Onscreen nearly 4hrs. Battery has gone down 9%. Full day and I’ve got 91% battery left.

what have they only just discovered at Apple to get battery life, how it should be finally?

ironic I turned Optimised Battery Charge off, and started getting better battery. Or just blind coincidence.
I deleted FB and getting better battery life now.. its all good now !! That’s insane battery life you are getting. Niiicceee

Safari

Noticed that if I have two or more tabs open, the reload option in the address bar will appear / disappear. Have not found the trigger yet.
Opened Safari - no reload.
Closed Safari, relaunched Safari - reload.

RC, to official release, I’ll always do a restore for this at the end of every beta. It’s great. Just cleans everything up, fresh for the next wave.

I hope you're right!
I hope his right too regarding my carrier issues. 🤦‍♂️ Made a appointment with the clowns for this week, I’ll be taking a spare phone with me running 14.7, I’ll put a new SIM card in there, if that doesn’t resolve the issues, someone might have to bail me out of prison 😳😬🤦‍♂️😂

Putting my money on it’s a carrier issue and not iOS 15 related.
