Here's a new one. This morning, I was randomly stuck on the spotlight search page. Cancel did not help, neither did swiping. Needless to say, a force restart fixed the issue but I don't remember this one before.

my battery health is at 93% and I just charge my phone as needed during the day and at night. I use either a 10W or 18W - sometimes will use the macbook charger if I need it to charge extra fast. Not terrible since I've had it since launch day and will only have a month more with the phone.

Since beta 5, when we scroll down to see other information in weather app, the top part that shown the Celsius, cities or countries and weather conditions will be cut off. Prefer the earlier version that still offers to displayed when scrolled down

Anyone else having issues with YouTube and TuneIn radio apps getting stuck on splash screen. Also App Store won’t open up “Account” tab. Just get the spin of death! Only fix I can find for these is a reboot but only last an hour or so until they fail to open again. Been happening for me the last 3-4 betas.

Use only the 5w adapter, charge only when needed, kept it between 15-90%, very few overnight charge (only time it reaches 100% charge), no wireless/fast charging, don’t use optimized charging, rarely let it die at 0%, kept it cool as I am

Vitamins everyday, protein shakes on workout days.

OK, my 12 Pro Max has a newer battery (manufactured 2020-10-12) with fewer cycles on it (160) and is down to 89.9% full charge capacity — and I have had Optimized Battery Charging enabled from day 1. What the hell?

After many years of wondering about this I’ve become convinced battery longevity is complete luck of the draw. There were times I did everything “right,” (like 5W charging only between 30-80%) and times I did everything “wrong,” (like overnight 12W charging to 100%) and there’s never been a correlation to battery health (Dating back to before the iOS battery health, when you needed coconutbattery). And times when I’ve done the same practices over the life of two different phones and had wildly different outcomes.

The fact that others have the same experiences further convince me of this. I think batteries have their fate sealed from the factory, unless you go to extremes like prolonged high heat conditions for years.

I got my 12 on launch day and the battery health is down to 89%!
I'm not convinced the info given is that accurate. But it's also likely t be that I'm not a heavy phone user. It gets charged every one (mainly) or two (rare) days. This means that there are times that by the end of the day, when I turn the phone off, there's still 50% or so capacity left.

So anyway, this beta…

Absolutely no improvements for me since 7 nor with the HomePods. I don’t expect any of my bugs to be sorted either.

My 12PM that I’ve had since day 1 with optimised charging on is on 94% until ios15 betas it was 99%

I’m saying that more than 10 people are experiencing the issue.
So does it mean - more than 10 people are experiencing the issue even after Apple has confirmed its resolution?

The main issue I have they introduced with iOS 14 and they haven’t fixed it so I don’t think they will ever fix it.
This is speculation but I get the feeling Apple sticks to their roadmap pretty closely during the beta process. They set a timeline for adding features and getting the new software out and don’t have extra time to fix bugs that are introduced. Even if the bugs are obvious, I think they concentrate on moving forward with their timeline and push those cans down the road. It makes perfect sense since we all see issues that seemingly get ignored and they just keep releasing new features with each beta release.

They should have special teams devoted just to squashing bugs. If they did the software would be flawless.

Same here. Still 100% since launch. Use the 5W charger and charge when it asks for it, all the way to 100%.

Well they haven’t fixed the bug in the last 12 months so I don’t expect them to ever fix it. If the issue affected the United States it would’ve been done immediately but because it doesn’t Apple don’t give a crap… In my incredibly biased opinion that is

What issue have you seen since 14? I am genuinely curious now.

See my post 46 above. Don’t want to repeat and derail the thread

Edit: here, Using dictation, a new paragraph automatically entered after saying “full stop” when phone set to UK bug still exists. No surprise, those ********s will never fix it.

Hmm, I don't use dictation much so I cannot advise how long it has been this way but when I say "Full Stop" it places a period. It does not start a new paragraph however. I wonder if "Full Stop" means something to either affect to some people, I really don't know.

PS. Thank you for sourcing your issue, these threads move so fast, it is hard to keep up at times, haha.

Are you in the UK?
