I got a XS Max here using 15.2 (updated yesterday afternoon). So far it seems quite a bit less 'glitchy' and stuttery. Although, it starts like this and then later on you start seeing the dreaded stuck app to swipe home animation lag. I hope it isn't the case here.

It seems all around a bit smoother/faster.

After ~24 hours of using 15.2 it doesn't seem laggy. Feels like 14.8 actually. Hope it'll go that way in further.
Previous releases between 15.0 and 15.1 felt wrong right after boot up.

I would keep an eye on it for the next day or so. It seems to start fine and get worse from there.

Next morning, still without reboot since release. It’s starting to stutter when switching apps again more and more. Not as worse as 15.1 but still noticeable. :(

There is indeed some refinement, I have the 15.2 non-beta. The animation when closing apps does not get stuck, but after using an app for a while (Safari, for example), there are some small stutters when closing it, plus it seems like touch responsiveness is lagging behind when doing so (also, sometimes browsing open pages stutters).
Opening some apps still stutters now and then, so there is still work to do on animations.

Having the same problems on an iPhone X. Screen is intermittently unresponsive, lag when scrolling, app opening and closing animations stutter sometimes.

Pretty annoying but I have no plans to buy a new phone like Apple obviously want me to, so I guess I’ll have to just live with these ‘bugs’

Even when you buy a new phone, the bugs are still there, as some users reported some days ago.

If it makes you feel better, this issues are also happening on some iPhone 13s

After using 15.2 a few days I can say that there is a big performance boost in animations. Stutters are rare. I am kind of happy with it. What about the others?

I feel my XS much smoother too, I haven't really seen any closing app stutters like the ones it used to have back since iOS 15, at least not as "eye blowing". Apart from this, I don't see any other issues that affect my daily usage. Battery seems good to me too, WiFi calling works fine.

So I'm quite happy and thinking about staying at this point with this iPhone for a long term.

Yup.

I updated via iTunes, did a reset all settings on the phone itself, rebooted the phone and I've been using it non-stop since.

It IS much smoother. Not many obvious lags in the UI at all (here and there, for example--moving apps around) but it's so subtle.

The only thing (for me) is that the battery took a slight hit. It's been using a bit more juice than usual but I guess it might still be indexing? Lol. Either way, no biggie I'm a fan of the smoother experience again.

15.3 is about to be even better

I can confirm that most of the stutters and lags are gone on my XS Max. I updated to 15.2 via OTA.
Sometimes when I close an app, there is a small delay before the closing animation starts. So this still isn’t perfect, but it’s a huge improvement over the last versions.
There is also still this weird pinch to zoom bug in Safari, where sometimes it takes two or even three attempts to get the zooming to work.
