Hello.

I have been to Beta 3, installed for 2 days.

Much better, some occasional lags but a lot of improvement is detected.

Something quite interesting happened to my iPhone today and don't know how to explain:

I was using my iPhone Xs in German language, and today I have changed it to my mother language, brazilian portuguese, and after this change all the hiccups and stuttering just stopped.

I'm using it for a couple of hours and so far everything is working perfectly.

I don't believe it's a placebo because I'm trying to stress it a lot to see any stuttering.
Most likely, after changing the language on the iPhone, the freezes still returned after a while, am I right? I tried the same thing, smooth use lasted for 2-4 hours, then glitches and freezes gradually returned again! I don’t know why, but from social networks, it’s Instagram that works worst of all, while scrolling inst, it seems that the screen is refreshed at a frequency of 20 Hz instead of 60! How are you doing after changing the language?

Didn’t solve the problem; glitches and lags came back after few hours.
I guess I’ll wait until the next beta

This is what I did that drastically reduced the closing apps stutter (iPhone XS and XR, iOS 15.1 - NOT beta):
Settings - Display & Brightness - View - chose zoomed. After that I played around for few minutes opening and closing apps, browsing web etc. You will notice that shuffling apps in app switcher for the first time after changing zoom stutters (maybe iPhone renders the images again for the new settings) - after that it's fine.
Afterwards I switched back to standard view and played again with the phone for about two hours, opening all my apps, switching between them etc. - and no stutter occured.
I've used the phone for about a day and a half and noticed that sometimes it does stutter when closing apps, but it is far far less from what I had before switching zoom settings.
Also, what I did notice is that I may have a little more stutter when opening apps and also some display touches are not registering the first time - but it might be because I have stressed the phone a lot after that.
That being said, this is my experience and not all might have it, but in my case there is definitely a big improvement.
This fixed the stutter only for a few hours, until ram is fixed. When changing the zoom factor, a respring (reload of the springboard) clears the ram. Then after it’s full again, the stutter comes back. :(

You wrote everything right! The only question is, will this be fixed in future updates iOS, or can I already buy a new phone? Although XR and XS is not quite an old replacement phone!

It seems that all iPhone Models have the problem, based on the feedbacks in this tread. So it seems very possible that we gonna get a fix from apple soon.

iPhone XR is not an old phone, indeed. My mom’s 6s runs smoother than mine. For me it’s an iOS issue that Apple need to fix asap

Yes, that's what I mean, that XR and XS are pretty good phones! But the question is whether the Apple is announcing this problem, its not just about software of apple music or home pod problems, this is a bug due to which the entire iOS system freezes and slows down and this is terrible, but there is no information from the Apple!

Still experiencing some lags on my iPhone 12 Pro. I am done with searching and trying anything. I wrote 3 feedbacks about slowdowns but it looks that I am only one who reported to the Apple.

I reported that too

There are animation issues on newer devices as well which Apple said they will be addressing. I'm assuming they're targeting animation/performance improvements for a future release such as 15.3 or 15.4. A fix for this would be more likely to happen at that point IMO.

15.2 and 15.1 seem to be more about bug fixing and features.

Yes, you are correct, as the stutters came back after a couple of days, unfortunately.
Man, I miss iOS 14.8...

On one of the Apple forums, one user wrote his own review, it is said that all the glitches and other problems on iOS 15 that were on his iPhone XR were decided by the fact that he just turned off the backup in iCloud!! And already for 1 day, his XR works as before the update to the iOS 15! We can try it too! But it is possible that all freezes and glitches will return again after a while!

I have iCloud+ and backup always ON.
That’s not the solution for my iPhone.

This does not suit me either, just wondering for a few days if this will somehow change the situation? Will stuttering really go away after turned off a backup on iCloud? Perhaps this is the problem in the iOS 15 with iCloud?

I turned Off iCloud Backup and iCloud Drive. Let’s see.

I‘m experiencing the same.
What a huge disappointment. This should have been fixed in 15.0.1 already.

Hi everyone,

A couple of days ago I updated two Xs from the latest 14.x to 15.1. System animations on my Xs are sluggish (similar to a frames drop effect). However, my wife's Xs is like before, fast and smooth. I have been trying to figure out what is the difference between them but in vain. We bought an iPhone Xs 64Gb together in the same US Apple store in December 2018, have an active backup to iCloud, ±20Gb free space, almost identical system settings and apps, similar battery health (81% (mine), and 86%). I guess this is a software problem and hope it will be fixed soon.

By the way, I bought Pixel 3 in November 2018, some months ago I updated it to the latest Android 12, it works as fast as on the first day, with no problems at all. iPhone Xs and Google Pixel 3 were released in Autumn 2018, they are in the same category in sense of performance. Therefore it would be a shame for Apple not to fix this annoying bug.
