Guys, I have an iPhone XR, and since iOS 15 Betas I faced lagging issue and most of the things that you mentioned.
I’m gonna tell you this: right now I’m on iOS 15.2 Beta 2, and none of that stuff has been fixed. Even with a hard reset, and setting iPhone as new device nothing changed.
I’ll give you update with every Beta that comes from now on.

I have to say that iOS 15.2 beta 2 is the best version of iOS15 on my iPhone 12 Pro. It's almost free lag experience. Okay it could be little bit better but Safari is buttery smooth and even touch issues looks solved. In some cases there is small slowdown but nothing major. Apple definitly working on this.

Hi, I have all the same problems with my iPhone XR, as you described! The first time I encounter such a problem in the iOS! I do not understand what this may be connected with, since the iPhone XR is still quite good! I will wait for your further feedback!

Have you replaced your battery? I'd guess that some people are having problems on older devices because their batteries are old and the CPU is throttling

Replacing the battery does not solve the stutter issue. It does seem a little smoother but it still lags closing apps.
Besides that I’m pretty happy with battery life on iOS 15.1 and the 1 month old battery

I did not replace the battery! Battery health 93 percent! And the phone holds a charge well! Everything was fine on the iOS 14.7! Things got really bad after uptade to 15! And 15.1 do not fix any problem!

Does anyone already have information about the iOS 15.2 Beta 3? Has anything changed for the better, or is it still buggy?

It seems to run way better now, but I can give you a real update after a few hours or after a day or 2. So far it's good, scrolling is smooth too.

Okay, it would be cool if you give a review in a day, has anything improved? Since on the iOS 15.1, freezing of animations in the system and applications remained!

It seems to run a little bit smoother on my iPhone XR, so far.
I noticed just a couple of lags in the closing apps animation.
Downloading pictures from Safari makes the animation stutter and it takes me to the Multitasking and not the Home Screen.
Obviously we’ll see if there are some improvements in the next days, with a daily use, but so far it seems a little bit better to me.

Okay, will you write your feedback on the use of the Beta 3 today? Will it stay better, or will freezes appear again?

These opinions are based on my personal experience with my iPhone XR, running iOS 15.2 Beta 3 since yesterday.

This beta may be a little bit worse then the second one, but at least not THAT bad like 15.1 Betas.
I experienced a few lags and stutters with the “Swipe Up” animation when going back to the Home Screen. Especially with Safari. I think Safari on iOS 15 runs pretty bad, having the never fixed lag issue when downloading a picture and swiping up to the Home Screen — the animation lags and stutters 90% of the time.
Leaving the iPhone on a web page for a few seconds makes the return to the Home Screen really laggy, and most of the times it takes you to the Multitasking instead of the Home, like “loosing a frame” in the animation.

I have to say that it’s not as bad as the previous betas — or the iOS 15.0 betas — but several issues still remain, giving me this “cheap phone” vibes that make me so angry and bother me a lot.
I have hope that Apple will optimize iOS 15, since some performance problem has been solved.

My thought still remains the same: FOR MY OPINION iOS 15 is a sh***y version of iOS that needs a lot of work about optimization.

P.S.: It seems to run a little better when dark mode’s ON.

Here is my experience on my XS:

It's far better, compared to 15.1.

- I haven't noticed any lag/stutters when swiping/scrolling and closing apps are smooth too.
- Battery is a little bit better (battery health is 89%, holds a charge well).
- RAM management is better! Just tested this with Facebook. After FB finished loading, I closed FB and loaded a ton of apps in the background. Send an e-mail and loaded various website I need for work. After 5 minutes or so, I opened FB again and it didn't reload on me.
- Opening apps seem to be a bit faster.

MS Edge doesn't load sometimes, but I can't blame iOS 15.2b3 for this, since I had the same with 15.0.2 and 15.1. I guess this is a thing with MS Edge itself. No issues with other apps.

I have been using the iOS 15.2 Beta 3 since yesterday! The first time it seemed like normal, well, after a while, all the same freezes and glitches appeared again! When you open applications and return to home screen, the animations freeze, and just like when I open Safari freezes too!

Something quite interesting happened to my iPhone today and don't know how to explain:

I was using my iPhone Xs in German language, and today I have changed it to my mother language, brazilian portuguese, and after this change all the hiccups and stuttering just stopped.

I'm using it for a couple of hours and so far everything is working perfectly.

I don't believe it's a placebo because I'm trying to stress it a lot to see any stuttering.

Give feedback on whether the situation will change in one or two days? Will there be stuttering again, it's interesting?

As a Brazilian I’m trying this

It seems to me that on the XS the performance issues don't occur at all times. I remember earlier in the thread that it was mentioned that it had to do with how full the RAM was. That could be the reason why things seem improved.

Perhaps you can put it to the test by opening multiple apps, especially RAM intensive apps like the Camera app.

This is what I did that drastically reduced the closing apps stutter (iPhone XS and XR, iOS 15.1 - NOT beta):
Settings - Display & Brightness - View - chose zoomed. After that I played around for few minutes opening and closing apps, browsing web etc. You will notice that shuffling apps in app switcher for the first time after changing zoom stutters (maybe iPhone renders the images again for the new settings) - after that it's fine.
Afterwards I switched back to standard view and played again with the phone for about two hours, opening all my apps, switching between them etc. - and no stutter occured.
I've used the phone for about a day and a half and noticed that sometimes it does stutter when closing apps, but it is far far less from what I had before switching zoom settings.
Also, what I did notice is that I may have a little more stutter when opening apps and also some display touches are not registering the first time - but it might be because I have stressed the phone a lot after that.
That being said, this is my experience and not all might have it, but in my case there is definitely a big improvement.
