Better use of the bigger screens , things haven’t changed fundamentally since the original iPhone on the home screen]

How about multiple sizes of icons ?

You could say that about anything, I’d you wanna oversimplify it. 😆

we have 2 sizes of icons, and have for a long while, so that’s something.

I'm running the IOS 15 RC on my iPhone 11...anything in particular I have to do to "upgrade" to the actual genuine release upgrade? Specifically? Thanks!

if its a different build number - OTA will trigger the update... if not - you will need to update via the downloaded ispw file.

Just delete the beta profile. It’ll probably trigger an update even if it’s the exact same build number

No need for the IPSW. Pointless is same build to go to that length.
If today is the same build number as last week I will be very surprised. There are quite a few bugs, some I don't think Apple wants on the first day this officially releases to the public. We will see shortly.

I’ve been quite vocal that I am sure it will be a newer build. Though I think it’s for Pegasus and maybe the music database corruption as a minimum. The RC build we have at the moment seems to be from August 15th, so therefore won’t have Pegasus fix, as it wasn’t reported to Apple until September 7th, so unless time travel was involved…..

Also, Apple have had buggy X.0 releases in the past.

What makes you think that the RC is from August 15th? The kernel is dated August 15th, but then the kernel in beta 8 was dated August 17th. We don't know the date of other system components.

This thread is now a dumpster fire too.

And today will bring the iOS 15.0 official release thread where all the same questions that have been asked and answered over the past 3.5 months in the beta threads get asked again.

Which is fine.

But I’ll steer clear.

I get what you are saying but your insight has help me a few times which is very much appreciated and would be a shame if others miss out .. just my opinion 👍🏼

Oh you know I won’t be able to resist sticking myself in there!

Thanks for the kind words too! I do try to help. But sometimes I also get impatient and frustrated, too.

This is actually a very exciting day, when all of us beta-geeks get to share the new features with everyone else. It may not be the most exciting release ever, but there are some things I can’t wait to get the family on.

I doubt they will put all postponed features in one release and so close to the initial one. It would make sense to span the new features across few updates at this point.
Oh I doubt it too. But I think we’ll get Universal Control and SharePlay next month when the new MacBooks come out. Then ProRes in a separate update. That’s my prediction.

15.1 could be a huge update if they do Universal Control, SharePlay, and ProRes in the same update.
I think they’ll be split between 15.1 and 15.2.

I can see UC coming with Monterey and 15.1 as 15.1 would likely come early October, as I feel that’s when Monterey is coming.

SharePlay I feel is not that ready from when it was in the betas, so will be 15.2 in November, and I see ProRes coming then.

Maybe ProRes might be 15.3 in December, but that’s a wild crazy guess and I won’t stick to that haha
