I’m still on the train of thought that Mondays 15.0 release will be a new build to include the Pegasus patch, as the current RC does not have it & doubt Apple would let people go from 14.8 which has the fix, to 15.0 which doesn’t.

Then Friday, 15.0.1 exclusively to iPhone 13’s.

maybe a 15.0.2 soon after for the other issues that 15.0 RC created as per the RC thread. 15.1 mid October, with Universal Control. 15.2 in November with SharePlay & new emojis.

15.1 beta 1 I’m expecting this week, or next week at the latest.

Agree with all of this. I am as close to certain as I can bee that we will see iOS 15.1 beta on Tuesday. The only thing that would push it to next week would be to keep people from getting messed up with new devices.

Evidence? As the build was prior to the report of the issue being raised…..

Pegasus exploit was reported on 7th September.

iOS 15.0 RC appears to be a build from Aug 15

@fantomcheung That's not evidence, that's some random on twitter making an assumption.

Apple were informed of the vulnerability on 7th September. The RC appears to have been compiled on August 15th....... Unless time travel was involved, it's not looking like it is in there.

The new iPhones will have had iOS 15 RC installed on them from mid August too, so those devices definitely will need a new iOS 15.0 installed.

So we can expect an update when we first set up new phones I guess

You must be kidding right? You know who he is? Even before that, how can you be sure his is some random assumption and yours is " definite"?

He doesn’t confirm that 15.0 RC had the fix. He assumes it does.

My assumption is based on evidence. How could Apple fix something 3 weeks before the exploit was reported to them? Explain how that can happen, with facts……

Gui Rambo isn’t “some random on twitter”…
🤣
My real point was his post stated he presumes, not that it definitely includes. People would take someone on Twitter assuming something as facts, despite evidence & logic showing otherwise.

How can Apple have an RC build dated August 15th, that apparently includes a fix for an exploit they were not informed of until September 7th?

especially since the new phones will have the RC installed from the 22nd of august onwards (as we know from previous years, Apple started installing the new iOS on the devices from then).

Yea. Likely a 15.0.1 exclusive to those devices to patch Pegasus, since the new phones will have had iOS 15 RC installed from the last week of August, like in previous years (not last year, which was disjointed due to covid).

My real point is that he is one of the main writers for 9to5Mac, and tends to have a lot of insider knowledge. Hence the twitter handle. When he puts specific info like that out on Twitter, there’s a darn good chance he’s extremely accurate.

He’s not specific though. He said he PRESUMES it has it, and from what I can see, the tweet was same day as iOS 15 RC, but about 3 hours before it came out, so he would not know when the build was made……

And since he tends to know about things before they’re released… well, you can think what you want and we can what we want I guess. But if you follow him on twitter, you wouldn’t be so flippant with assuming he doesn’t know.

Widgets keep resetting for me. I’ve got 3 Shortcuts widgets that keep resetting to “All Shortcuts” instead of the specific section I’d set for each. The RobinHood app widget also keeps resetting to the default list instead of the one I’ve got set.

I’m also seeing the URL bar going missing occasionally. Force quitting Safari brings that back.

I’ll take what I can evidence over people assuming that a tweet presumes iOS 15 RC will have the fix in it, rather than it saying it does have the fix…..

there won't be the rc is the build already on all the phones, there will be outage that RC messes up Apple Music so I think a 15.0.1 will come the same week
We’ve had it before where the public release was a new build, then the new devices got an x.0.1 exclusive to them to include the changes.

If there’s going to be a new build, it’s for Pegasus fix only, I reckon. There’s still no evidence of the RC we are running has that fix, as it looks like it was from August 15th, the new devices would be getting that build installed from the last week of august, just like previous years. The Pegasus exploit was raised with Apple on 7th September. It’s just logical, based on those facts.

I’m just shocked the rc is so buggy it has completely ruined my syncing off Apple Music and messed it up
