On this day, iOS 12.1 Beta 1 was released three years ago. Waiting for 15.1 this week! 🤷‍♂️

New build number for final release to fix this hideous safari slow down, LETS GOOOO!! 🕺

Not see it on my 12 buddy.

Try erasing the iOS and install a fresh RC. Takes about 12 minutes to do, and effects no data or apps, just erases the iOS and installs a fresh copy from the IPSW you download.

(You probably know this, just for others out there who don’t, it’s a great way to reinstall the iOS with out doing a full on restore)

finder > hold alt down > click on check for updates > select the RC IPSW you’ve downloaded from your desktop… and sit back.

This is how I’ve installed the RC and I have no issues going on. Another buddy of mine did the same, after trouble with the OTA RC, and his phone is fine now.

I went a step further and set up phone as new and lots of my issues went away that I was having when I did it OTA with this RC from beta 8

I in the few years that I have used the new version of iOS betas, I do not remember seeing that they release a compilation as final that is not beta GM or RC now. I'd be surprised if they did this year, although with Apple, you never know.

I wonder how it’s gonna go on Monday then as most people will be updating OTA from iOS 14.8. Hopefully Apple will have sorted it out by then and release a different public build. 🤔

I did a restore yesterday and it took forever. Like 4+ hours. I kept getting a message at the top of the Settings app just under the iCloud account, saying the restore is paused because the phone is too hot! Then it listed how much data still needed to be downloaded. And that fluctuated based on what was downloading. Like if I opened the Music app, it’d start downloading all of the music I’d keep offline. And then get hot. Or when I opened the Photos app and it started downloading all of my stuff..

My S6 Apple Watch restore took like 15 minutes or so. Super fast.

Our devices, went from 14.8 to 15 RC fine, think it’s only from Beta 8 to RC that’s an issue. Probably beta dregs causing issues.

Were not the beta dregs meant to be wiped clean by the RC, though, considering it was such a big file (5+GB)?

This is the last resort, never restore my device, can't be bothered. 😂

Should be fixed with a upcoming software update.

No new RC the public will get the same one we have, and apple will push an update asap as this thing is not ready my Apple Music doesn’t sync from my mac to my phone
Any idea how soon after Friday’s release we may or would typically see another release?

I’m still on the train of thought that Mondays 15.0 release will be a new build to include the Pegasus patch, as the current RC does not have it & doubt Apple would let people go from 14.8 which has the fix, to 15.0 which doesn’t.

Then Friday, 15.0.1 exclusively to iPhone 13’s.

maybe a 15.0.2 soon after for the other issues that 15.0 RC created as per the RC thread. 15.1 mid October, with Universal Control. 15.2 in November with SharePlay & new emojis.

15.1 beta 1 I’m expecting this week, or next week at the latest.

the security patch was already in the iOS 15 rc

This might be the first time in my iOS update history when I won’t be happily starting an update the moment it comes out tomorrow. Considering all the listed RC issues, instead I will first be checking the build number and waiting to hear how it all rolls out. Disappointing, of course, but, IMO, there are very few useful changes in iOS 15 compared to iOS 14 to rush out and risk my current iOS 14 equilibrium. 😉
