From the changelog:
  • Streaming in the Music app could result in higher CPU usage, causing faster battery drain in some scenarios. (84861891, 85326575)
Seems like 15.2 will be released officially with this bug present. Not sure what is happening with Apple...

We never know what Apple is up to with even official releases having issues like that.

Looking at the calendar, “maybe”:

Monday 6th - official iOS 15.2
Thursday 9th, if not in the same week Tuesday 14th iOS 15.3 B1

UC could be a surprise thrown in there at any point as an early Christmas present ?. Activation into beta mode on 15.2 in conjunction with 12.1 Monterey releases is a possibility, that was cleverly found and mentioned a few times, or might it come in iOS 15.3 B1 to summarise loosely from the past few weeks of the best minds on here. It’s getting close to that end of Authmn window as advertised “still” on the Apple website. Exciting stuff ahead ???

It looks like UC is in Monterey, from what’s been seen, just hidden. So, any new build can just unhide it. We know it’s tagged as a beta feature. It’s highly likely it’s the same in iPadOS too.

So, until Apple changes their feature page to say otherwise, I expect UC to be available to the public in the next 3 weeks.

69 it is. Nailed it.

I think there will be an RC beta next week, with the final release in the week of December 13, and that is when we will get beta 1 of ios 15.3, which will surely be the only one until after Christmas.
And I am also of the opinion that UC is in the code of ios 15.2, and it would not be unreasonable to launch a possible 15.2.1 in the Christmas week to enable this function if it is not already active in the final launch of ios 15.2, even if it is in beta format. It would be a kind of Christmas gift for many who are wanting to try this function hehe
I really hope the new emojis haha

Got to be another beta/rc before public release. Tuesday 14th December, final release.

Or, it could just be enabled in the RC build or Public release build, since it's tagged as a 'beta' feature, much like how iCloud Private Relay is tagged as a beta feature. I don't think they'll get a 15.2.1 out before Christmas, just 15.2.

Then that way, they don't slip on the date for that feature being available to the public on their website.

If so, what is the point of not having enabled it already? thus they still had more reports of possible failures, and it would reach the general public more polished, although they continued to label it as beta.

I actually feel like I'm going crazy. IOS 15.1 on the iPhone 11 seems to be a failed beta version, with problems. I reset it again and a week ago, the battery has moments when it holds very well and moments when it holds less well.
I'm going crazy.

You might already be there, sir. This is the iOS 15 speculation thread where we talk about coming versions. 15.1 has long been out of date and isn't even signed for the 12 and 13 series devices. I recommend updating to the latest release (15.1.1) or the latest beta, which is 15.2 beta 4 especially if you're having issues.

Okay, I hit the wrong topic again, sorry. But I have an iPhone 11, so unfortunately my latest official version is iOS 15.1, and I don't run on beta because there are no stable versions from my point of view.
I hope things return to normal in IOS 15.2, just as they did in IOS 14.

Pretty sure this bug has been there for a few betas now. How is it not a priority to fix? Does a multi billion dollar corporation not have the resources to correct this? They own the whole stack, top to bottom. I assume they will release 15.2 with this bug as well and maybe they'll fix it one day??

Are you experiencing it? I don’t think I know a single person that is. Them saying it occurs in “certain scenarios” doesn’t mean it is happening to everyone much less a vast majority of users. Just means they have noted it is a problem and they are obviously working on it.

Doesn't matter, they have nearly unlimited resources. Fix it in a timely fashion.

Yeah, it does matter. They don’t have “nearly unlimited resources” as you say.

Sure, they have a lot of money. But that doesn’t equate to having all the developers you need to fix every last little bug. They compete with Facebook, Google, Microsoft and Amazon, to name but a few other users of the scarce resources known as developers and software engineers.

Why is this concept so difficult to understand?
