The change log says:
“The SDK comes bundled with Xcode 13 beta 5”. Which means that new xcode Beta is not expected this week. I know it doesn’t have to be tied to macOS, but it gets me worried about the next macOS beta. Hopefully it will be released today (or tomorrow, as a worst case scenario). 💀

MacOS beta 6 is mentioned in the SharePlay profile bit of the release notes, so hopefully that means this week.

I said DB today at 10 am PT and public beta this afternoon....won't know I'm correct for a few more hours. And then you quoted me basically saying I'm wrong and that PB will be tomorrow. I was triggered.... 🤣
I guess we’ll wait and see.

Of note, iOS 13.0 beta did have a 20 day gap after a couple 7 day gaps.
That's cos it was the last beta before RC. It wasn't a new beta after that gap.

well...still 3 hours to see if I'm correct regarding the public release.
I think today, but yea, could be tomorrow like other PBs.
RC next Thursday 😆😂
I think we get 1 more beta before RC.
No changes to Safari. I guess the Safari and the macOS teams are away on a holiday... 🤡
I said after the last beta came out, that this would be the one that ships, but everyone shot me down.......

MacOS beta will come before the end of Friday. It always tends to come later in the week than iOS, as it's release is not tied to iOS, that's why it always keeps a 2 weekly release when iOS goes weekly. MacOS final public release is always a couple weeks or so after the iOS x.0 public release. Always been the case, so don't see why people seem to get funny about MacOS releases not coming out alongside the iOS releases.

Or perhaps the final version will be released before we expected it.
Final version will come in the same week as new hardware is shipped.... Usually there's an event showing off the new hardware and no event announced as yet. So, the chances of a final version being release before we expect it are zero 🤓

Damn. Last week of September then. Why? Because the fall starts in September 22 this year. So...

This .. event September 14th pre order 17th and receive new phones the 24th is my speculation so the week of 21st thru 23rd 15 will be released

You're assuming they go back to doing the release the way they did with iOS 13 and before. If they repeat last year's hardware release (which is possible due to all the issues with shipping and components that have been reported), we could see a similar sequence to last year.

So we might get split hardware releases again. Meaning that iOS 15 could be for certain devices, and then 15.1 is the 'true' 15.0 release with the bulk of the new hardware.

I've just got no inkling on how it's going this year. I do think event being 14th September is too early tho, as it just doesn't feel like there's the ramp up for that timeframe, compared to usual.

One can hope. They are already filming for the event.

They did the filming early last year too.
Looks like it's already been filmed or Apple should be in a process of finishing the production. Here's a photo of Lisa Jackson. Notice the production equipment. This was updated last week.

Come on macOS Monterey Beta 6 (I believe), where are you?

Likely Thursday. It’s usually 2 weekly even when iOS goes weekly, and at the tail end of the week (Thursdays usually. Sometimes Fridays). MacOS final release is always later than iOS, so it’s in its own schedule.

Not today apparently :( I hope it brings UC, although I don’t have high hopes. Otherwise I can’t justify the wait. I guess safari is finished, design-wise. The other new features are excluded from the initial release. Of course, it’s pretty unstable and this needs fixing, but basically when you exclude the various bugs, UC is the only thing to be looking forward to.

You’re assuming that picture wasn’t taken when WWDC stuff was filmed.

also, you’re assuming all of it is filmed at the same time, which was not the case last year, which had filming span over about a month or so.

I believe it was recently updated last week. She had a different picture up.

Just cos it was uploaded then, doesn’t mean it was taken at that time. You’re missing my point that you’re basing it on assumption. It could have been taken in May/June when filming for WWDC was being done.

so, unless you can get confirmation of when it was actually taken, it’s pointless using it for confirmation they were filming the other week.

Additionally, as I said, they don’t film the entire video in the same day. It was spread out over a few weeks to a month for the last few events. So even if they were filming the other week (which is possibke), they might only be at the first lot of filming with more over the next month.

Your thoughts are right on the money and I am fully aligned with them. Yes, UC is the only feature that I am looking forward to with Monterey, at this time. I have a good feeling that UC will not appear in the initial release and may end up being a point release. BUT, that little glimmer of hope that UC may be in the next Monterey Beta keeps me anxiously waiting.

I think UC might be pushed to a x.1 release for iOS, since nothing confirms it’s actually available yet in iOS. Tho it could be that 15.1 comes with Monterey’s public release, since Monterey won’t be out the same day as 15.0.
