Hopefully this finally fixes Safari memory management issues. You don’t know how many times I’ve started typing something in a forum like this, went to another tab to look something up, just to have the original tab refresh and lose what I typed. Good thing Macrumors has auto save, not everywhere does.

My money is on B8 being the secret RC (identical build as eventual RC).

not contesting this, just, aren’t Apple missing a trick here when they do this? They’ve potieitally missed out on time to tweak under the hood again before the RC ?!?… generally interested on thoughts why they do this, baffles me slightly.

Is it that they don’t want to risk anymore hick ups so close to the final release, so if B8 is all good to an expectable level of remaining minor bugs, let that roll out again as RC and then put further changes into 15.1 B1?

They have to sooner or later finalize a build to preload onto the new devices which may or may not be about to hit production soon.

iOS 13 and 14 both went up to Beta 8 (mid August) which ended up being identical to the RC. Chances are we see 15.1b1 for testing in a week or 2.

Definitely. Stability (relative term, of course) is the name of the game at this point.
