My 13 did this to me once. That was enough, I disabled the feature.
DON’T disable important features. You never know when they might end up saving your life.
You could always respond to the 911 saying it’s a false alarm and they don’t mind. They’d rather deal with a dozen false alarms than miss that one vital call.

Can anyone confirm that your announced notifications while wearing airpods works correctly? I had to downgrade from beta 1 to 16.5 because when I was wearing airpods and a notification came in while I was listening to music, the music would go to 90% volume for the duration of the notification, and the notification wouldn't be announced. Nasty bug
Fixed for me as well.

Yes , I agree, but No, Apple needs to fix this.

My AWU did this all the time. Now I just take it off when doing hard/yard work.

iPhone 12/mini/Pro/Max: 3.70.01
Post needs a small correction to Modem Firmware for the iPhone 12 Pro. On iOS 16.5 the modem firmware version was 3.70.01. With iOS versions 16.6 Beta 1 and 2 the modem firmware version has gone back to 3.70.00.

It's been over 24 hours since this beta has been out.

How's the battery life for everyone? Any differences or still the same as the previous beta?

Between 8-9 hrs on a mix of 5G + WiFi throughout the day. It's improving!

One thing that I hope they fix in iOS 17 is this. This strange thing has been happening for months and months now. The only way I have found to make it go away is to reboot the phone. And then it is gone for a while. Then it comes back and you have to do it all again.

Ouch. That’s a really nasty bug. I’m thinking that since this is persistent across several releases that this may be a hardware issue not iOS.

And I lived for 5 years where your weather is displaying. Miss it all the time.

Hi former neighbor!
Yea I am wondering the same thing. Like I said to TheYayAreaLiving I am going to go see Apple if it doesn’t get better soon.

That seems like a display issue to me. I can’t imagine you’d have any trouble getting them to swap that out.

Do you report all these bugs you have? And why are you in low power mode? Just curious.
Yes sir, I do. I report them to Apple directly and then post them here to keep track of them. I was glued to my iPhone yesterday and ran out of battery mid-day. 🙃

In my opinion this has something to do with the accessibility settings you are using (bold and larger text, I think). It's probably a bug in these modes that you are using. Try turning them off and see if it stops doing that.

Hey yours is kinda like mine. Text over the top of other text. If 17 doesn’t fix this stuff, I am going to go up the street and visit Apple and ask them for a new iPhone. This one is just 5 months old. And it should not be doing stuff like this. Yours either.

A new phone won't fix it. If it was a hardware issue, it wouldn't show up in screenshots. That's a software bug. It would be useful to report it via feedback assistant.

After installing the 16.6 beta i get a "no sim card installed" message several times. I also get the facetime/imessage activation message over and over again

Good morning my friend!! Happy WWDC day. When this afternoon is over, I will be on iOS 17! And I bet that you will be too! Hopefully the bugs 🐜 will be gone away.

I’m hoping for your sake, you create a backup. I’m guessing that iOS 17 beta will be full of bugs in the beginning. Personally, I will be waiting until later betas, or just holding off until the full release. You do you though!

I have run the beta for each iOS since number four on the day of WWDC. This one will be no different than the rest. From what they showed, it looks like they did what we expected. No major changes just a few things. That hopefully means that they used their time to get the os running better.

Fair enough. I’m stuck at work, so I haven’t been keeping up much with what’s been announced, but looks like a fairly small update. Maybe the beta won’t be so bad
