iOS 17.0.2 ― Bug Fixes, Changes, and Improvements

Yeah mine was offloaded and when I got it back my shortcuts were gone. Not happy.
Especially so considering I lost my homescreen creator shortcut and now the files are gone from whatever host had them. I have a decent collection of the icon shadow walls I created but I won’t be able to create anything new.
They need to completely nuke the settings and start from scratch on iOS 18 in my opinion. So many settings make no sense anymore. It’s like they just throw new things into random categories that I last thought of looking in
Won’t happen. This was rumoured and hoped for, for so many times over the last years. We mostly see minimal overhauls in iOS but nothing too major.
Before if i walked away from my phone and had my watch on, when i got close again, the always on display would turn back on. It doesn’t turn back on anymore, just stays off until i unlock/lock again. iPhone 15 pro here
Is anyone else’s reception bar pulsing? The first bar keeps pulsing up and down. Only happens on Home Screen, not in control centre or apps.

Anyone delaying moving from iOS 16.x to 17.x by 1st week January? My thought is by then any & all major bugs would be resolved.

Anecdotally it sounds like there are a few minor bugs out there but certainly nothing of sufficient magnitude to wait 4 months for features that already help me daily.
To be safe you can always wait for the .1 or .2 releases but there aren’t any major bugs known in 17.0(.x).
Anyone else getting call logs merged on two different phones/phone numbers tied to the same Apple ID? I haven't had this issue in the past prior to iOS 17. Contacts have always been turned on in iCloud to be synced. Phone has been turned off in iCloud to be synced.
I did the phone to phone transfer from my 14 Pro to the 15 Pro. The 15 Pro will prompt to update to 17.0.2 and transfers data after. The MDM profile doesn't transfer so reinstalled it using the Intune Company Portal app. No problems.
Could not get the phone to phone transfer to work. Had to restore from iCloud. But that wasn't too bad.
All in all, not the best rollout for iPhones between the ordering issues and the transfer issues to the new devices.
Who else is annoyed of apple removing camera & photos button in imessage from the keyboard.
There's plenty of space at the bottom of the keyboard where they can place those buttons. Or at least give us an option to do that.

I was ready for it to fail after reading some earlier posts about the phone to phone method and had my encrypted backup ready on Mac just in case.
I did update my 14 Pro to 17.0.1 when it released before the 15 launched. This bug doesn't make for a good launch day experience, that's for sure!
Not me, I much prefer the new UX. Long press the + button and it takes you straight into the photo albums, much better than before for attaching pics. However, I can see people not liking it if they use the camera app inside messages, which I never do.
Long pressing + is a hit and miss for me. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.
Hoping apple fix this in the next version.
