I’ve been having this CarPlay / Apple Music issue off & on for all of iOS 17’s beta cycle and thru 17.1 now. The only “fix” is completely unplugging it and back in again, and sometimes that doesn’t even do it.

Car play has a bunch of issues. Siri doesn’t let me reply to or send messages. Reported to senior tech and they said known issue and wait for car play software fix and report car play issues to www.apple.com/feedback which supposedly the engineers actually read…

Anyone still having issues with messages and indexing of photos? 17.0 & up not all of my photos were indexed in the photos section. Since 17.1 old photos are back which is great but any new photos or videos that come in are hit and miss whether they appear in that section. Using a 13 promax. I have tried rebooting phone and turning off messages in icloud. iPad os 17.1 they are all there.

You mean the "Shared with You" album in Photos? It's broken. It hasn't worked properly since they announced it two years ago in ios15. 🥵

The photos list in Messages works for me. They just dont show up in the Photos app like theyre supposed to

I just noticed that you can add multiple copies of the same app to your home screen. Just long press an app in your app library and drop it on your home screen. It duplicates itself instead of removing the one you already have there.

That’s not new. That’s been there since at least iOS 16.

The new ones seem to come and go. If they don’t come back in a few days the go to messages, Siri and search and toggle that off and toggle iMessage off. Then turn all those back on. If that doesn’t work, the go iMessage and sign out of iCloud and then sign back in. That should work

Is this still happening for you…or for others? Thank you for the advice...that seemed to help.

I charge my phone every night and it takes several days for the photos to show up for some reason. Text indexes overnight, but photos take longer.

Has anyone noticed if this update fixed the issue with iOS 17.1.1 shutting down the phone or asking you randomly to enter your Passcode again throughout the day?

Never had a problem with my 15 PM shutting down.

I’ve found the passcode thing usually happens when I have my phone face up in a certain spot and I think it’s seeing a “face” when a notification comes in and after a few of those it requires a passcode. Other than that one spot (or if I put it face down there) I don’t have to enter my passcode more than once a week.

This is what some have experienced. My iPad's which are on iPadOS 17 randomly ask me to reenter my Passcode. My iPhone is currently on iOS 16.

17.1.1, 13 Pro - what’s using the battery while I’m sleeping and there is no activity? Line was completely flat in 16.x overnight.

I'm running iOS 17.1 on my iPhone 13. System uptime is currently 81 days, 16 hours, 13 minutes (from the System Status app).

Performance is still superb! Battery life is excellent. I'm going to see how high I can get the uptime before I notice any issues (sad, I know 🤣).

You remind me of myself 20 years ago, when I used to keep uptime records for machines at work written on a whiteboard. I still have a photo from back then. :)

Seriously though, it's not worth missing out on important security updates. Update that sucker when 17.4 comes out today.
