Fingers crossed we get 17.2 beta 1 on the 24th (assuming 17.1 is released).

Can’t stop, won’t stop!

Experiencing a glitch in the Watch app. Even though the update completed on the watch but the app still shows as installing even after restarting both devices

Don’t think I’ve seen this mentioned in the previous 17.1 beta threads… you can now “suggest less” for Apple Music artists.

I honestly wish there were a "Never play this song" for Apple Music radio streams. Sometimes AM has multiple versions of your favorite song, some of which are re-recordings not as good as the original, and I don't want to hear those, ever. I'd love to be able to permanently ban them from being played.

This is the first time in ages I haven’t felt the need to jump onto the beta. Surprisingly enough 17.0.3 has been pretty smooth for me, no major bugs in my daily tasks and good battery life.

Hopefully this next release will just improve upon the stability without breaking anything new🤞🏻Guess I’ll find out next week when it’s released eh.

I experienced the same thing with my iPhone 15 Pro Max & Apple Watch Ultra after install. I left it alone for a while and now it is finally showing the watch is up to date in the Watch app.

"Standby New options to control when the display turns off (iPhone 14 Pro, iPhone 14 Pro Max, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max)"

Anyone else miffed that they're holding these settings back from earlier iPhones? There's no technical reason all iPhones that get iOS 15 shouldn't be able to keep the screen on when charging.

So far I haven’t experienced the stutter/lag when I swipe down on the home screen to check for notifications. Previous betas had this for me at least

All of the devices you mention have Always on Display. Now I won’t pretend that I have the slightest expertise in display tech, but I’d be willing to wager that that has something to do with it.

Always on display allows the display to stay on all the time while consuming very little power. It's only a consideration when running on battery.

When on a stand, plugged in, power consumption by the display is not an issue. They could easily enable standby to work with the display all the time on previous iPhones but simply chose not to.

Very very tiny detail but with 17.1 it’s now again possible to simply reset the sleep timer in the Podcast app.
For example: When you select a 5 Min timer, wait a bit and then select it again, the timer resets to a time of remaining 5 min.
This is now the same behaviour of iOS 16. With 17.0 this wasn’t possible.

Probably the display since the 14 Pros are a bit more robust… but this is more like to find a reason for this in favour of apple…

That really only works without impacting battery lifespan if it can take power directly instead of only via the battery. As far as I am aware, the iPhone cannot do that.

I’m not sure that’s accurate. There may be screen burn in issues that are not present in the newer phones.

any one have a bug where iPad 10th gen stops charging at 85% with IOS 17.1 RC have not had this issue with the last beta

Don’t they do AOD by dropping the refresh rate down to an absurdly low rate? It’s not simply a matter of how much power they can push thru it.

plus, doing AOD at full power would result in burn in
