I wonder if it fixed iMessage and text problems. After 17.2 a few contacts got mixed together. Also, when doing a group text it was fine unless I added an android user, then the message area would disappear. Also, 17.2 had some weird CarPlay issues that would happen randomly. I have to check if this is resolved…

Update: I am now getting Messages on my AW (mirroring 15PM) this morning. No clue why it just started. No clue why it stopped. Forwarding of messages from my 15PM to my iPad Pro still isn’t working.

Similar issues. If you manually sync on your phone and then on your iPad do you get all of the messages? That’s what I’ve been having to do.

Yes please👍🏻
Hi sorry but I can’t find the original post, however I can try to describe what I did.
I had to manually turn off every settings for autofill. This included the password keychain from the apple peofile in settings, as well as the toggles in “Face ID and password “ and in the safari settings. Then I rebooted the device and turned everything back on. Only then it worked. Try it out and let me know .

Prob "under the hood" changes. Since they are pushing it out fairly quick one can only speculate.
But who knows, maybe a security flaw not yet reported, critical bug or something else.

What car play issues do you have? Mine connects fine wireless and everything works except I cannot send or reply to a message using Siri. Siri gets stuck on the interface and then shuts down. I’m hoping 17.2.1 will fix this. I’ll install it today

AWU on 10.2
iPad Pro 11 on 17.2
15 Pro Max on 17.2.1

Now that my 15PM has been updated, I am getting no Messages on my AWU or iPad. Still come through on the 15PM and even though the AWU is set to mirror the 15PM and all texts on the 15PM are forwarded, nada. I did till the 17.2.1 update.

Hard reboots no help.
grrrrr……..
How about signing out of iCloud and back in?

Still so, so many bugs.

At some point (I believe iOS 17.2, although MAYBE it was 17.1.2), copying/pasting a Live Photo within a Messages app convo broke.

Works fine if you actually send the original pic from the camera roll, but if you copy/paste it, the people see this when they tap the photo…

17.2.1 has broken automation for me in the Home app… lights now come on ‘when at home’ rather than ‘when not at home’ today after update and vice versa. They have flipped the logic and yet the automation is input correctly.
I have validated this by inputing a new automation.

Since installing 17.2.1 on my 15PM I have noticed apps sometimes "freezing", meaning: I open an app, but it won't react to any touch input. I need to kill it and reopen. It has happened with various apps seemingly unrelated between each other, from different developers. Anyone else?

That was one of the problems. I would press the Siri command on the steering wheel and the Siri orb would not come up and I could not listen or create a message. Seems to be working again on 17.2.1 for now.
I had this same problem when iOS 17 beta debuted over the summer.

Great info, thanks. Might be what I needed to get around a change freeze :-D
Strange that there aren't a iPadOS update released...maybe its just around the corner.

Installed 17.2.1 yesterday and tested car play. Now I can only send a message if the volume of Siri is whisper quiet so that I can barely hear it. If I turn the volume up, Siri has the same bug as before and gets stuck and I then I can’t send or reply to any messages. Strange bug that I have reported to Apple multiple times. They acknowledge it is a bug in the software. Definitely not my car or my phone. Engineering said they have no known date to fix it but are aware of this bug

FYI - I’ve got iOS 17.3 DB1 running on my iPhone and sent multiple messages yesterday without issue via Siri with CarPlay active; normal volume.

However we didn’t see an update for iPadOS. At least for 17.2.1.

Might have to hop on 17.3DB1 or wait for 17.3 public release. I’ve had this problem since day one of iOS 17. No issues with iOS 16 and iPhone 14 Pro. Issue started with iPhone 15 pro and iOS 17. I hope the bug doesn’t return for you. Then I’ll know the fix is in 17.3

Is there a specific scenario I can test? Will be in my car in a bit.

Not a fan of the continuously reports about battery life after every single little update but this time I really have the feeling that the 15 Pro is more stable and longer lasting with 17.2.1 compared to 17.2

Working fine on 15 Pro and 15 Plus but battery health has dropped on both - 1.5% on 15 Pro (43 charge cycles) and 2.5% on a 15 Plus with only 5 charge cycles. Which is odd.

I am also not a fan on complaing about battery life but my 15 Pro Max was not very solid even it gets me through a full day.
With iOS 17.2 I thought it is now stable. Maybe also because the battery is now a bit trained after 50 or so cycles.
But with iOS 17.2.1 I am really impressed. It got much better. I am happy for now.

I still can’t believe they haven’t fixed it. It’s literally .2 version of iOS 17 and even though I’ve been reporting this since 17.0 they didn’t fix it.
Yes, I know it’s a minor bug and it doesn’t impact performance or whatever but is it really that hard to remove „-” from one word? It’s been like 4 months already.
