Is there a specific scenario I can test? Will be in my car in a bit.
Ask Siri to send a message to one of your contacts with Siri at the same regular volume that you play music / and while music is playing say “Siri” or “hey siri” send a message to xxx and see if the interface comes up. Then speak your message, see if she reads it back and asks to send it and then send it. Then see if you can do the same but reply to a message you received . All this at regular volume as music. I’ll curious to see if yours works. I’m on 17.2.1 iphone 15pro connected wireless to Lexus nx 2022 built in infortainment center car play (vs an installed after market head unit)

I did these all yesterday evening and none were an issue. 2019 Audi A4 and iPhone 15 Pro running iOS 17.3 DB1.

That’s excellent to know. Thank you. I hope it stays this way for you in the coming days and always. If the bug returns, I’d really appreciate it if you could post back on here and let me know

I tried alllll the things again today. Forgot car, forgot on phone, hard reset phone, re pair to car and the bug is still there. I’ve already done DFU and set up as new and it didn’t help with car play bug.

So your experience in 17.3 DB1 is giving me hope. Thank you

I still can’t believe they haven’t fixed it. It’s literally .2 version of iOS 17 and even though I’ve been reporting this since 17.0 they didn’t fix it.
Yes, I know it’s a minor bug and it doesn’t impact performance or whatever but is it really that hard to remove „-” from one word? It’s been like 4 months already.
Yup, I also reported this stupid typo in Polish translation of “Do not disturb”.

Zero feedback in feedback app, even not confirmed that someone else reported it… so I cross my fingers for 17.3 - .4

I literally facepalmed when seen that for first time…

After update to 17.2.1 I experience sound problems on iphone 13 pro max.
It seems to be the OS sounds the are at full volume even they are not set to full.

17.2.1. So smooth. I have the 15+.When scrolling, my screen is acting likes it's 120Hz like the pro models.

The only grip I have, still have, is the reminders today badge just will not show on any reminders due today. I have tried every darn cotton pickin, rootin tootin thing under the sun. Even the nuclear option. It still will not show a badge on a reminder that's due today. other then that, 15+ with 17.3.1 is running really well.

Assume you enabled Settings > Reminders > Badge Count > Include Due Today?

This is a heavy placebo. It runs good but this has nothing to do with 120hz.
The regular 15 only has a 60hz display, if you compare this to a pro with a 120hz display there is a huge difference.

Err. I'm well aware that the 15+ has only a 60Hz refresh rate. I was just saying how fluid my 15+ feels after updating to 17.2.1. It's so smooth, it doesn't feel a million miles away from a 120Hz display like on the pro's.

I went ahead and recreated the WiFi testing I did with my 15 ProMax under 17.2 on 17.2.1.
No change. Still seeing download speed issues on the 15PM while the rest of my devices don’t show the same issue. They are all fine.

This may be older but it is the first time I am seeing this…

Sent an iMessage from my 15PM and it just shows the message in blue. The “delivered” is missing.
The same iMessage sent from my iPad Pro (on 17.2) shows the Delivered tag.

I’ve seen this one for as long as I can remember.

This happens constantly.

Squared notifications
Volume slider glitch

Beside these two visual flaws I’m very happy with 17.2.1, its running fine on the 15 Pro.

I have to agree with the sentiment here, 17.2.1 seems really good. Visual hiccups with Notification Center and CarPlay skipping aside.

Installed 17.2.1 from iOS 16 on my wife's 14 Pro because Wireless CarPlay would not connect on iOS 16 half the time when the vehicle was started. I noticed after updating to iOS 17 there were only 7 apps that needed updating, which tells me a lot of apps geared towards iOS 17 were already updated on her phone while still on iOS 16. This gives me hope the update to iOS 17 fixes the CarPlay connectivity issues as there are a lot of apps on her phone.

The 14 Pro is not even warm 6 hours after the update & off the charger. Also, the battery is not draining like I have read with other who took the leap from iOS 16. Seems solid so far.

A general question. Provided that battery life on iOS 17.2 was pretty good, would anyone here prefer to downgrade to 17.2 from the current 17.2.1 version? Why?

I ask this because from what I’ve read, iOS 17.2.1 doesn’t offer a battery life as good as 17.2, despite the fact that this last update included, apparently, some battery drain fixes.

Would you go back to 17.2, which is AFAIK still signed? Or rather wait to 17.3?

Thank you

I wouldn’t go too crazy about battery life especially with this very minor point updates.
I highly doubt that 17.2 is significantly better in terms of battery life as 17.2.1, of any it should be more of the opposite.
And what’s the point about downgrading now? You have all the hustle to jump back to an older version with probably unpatched security flaws to then most likely update again to 17.3 in Januar.
Just leave it as it is.

Yeah, at this point I think I prefer to wait until 17.3

Where have you seen this "poor battery life" talk? The posts in this thread seems to say the opposite. For one, mine seems to be better than any 17.x so far. However to answer part 2, I would go up to 17.3 verses going backwards. But sticking with 17.2.1 is my #1 option for now.

Some battery tests videos I usually trust. But it usually varies between devices.

It seems that this build has broken my ability to connnect to CarPlay wirelessly and with a cable. It worked fine on 17.2 prior to the update albeit it had the occasional disconnect and reconnect issue. Now it won’t connect at all and I get an error message in my vehicle. I tried my other phone, running 17.2, and it works fine.
