Are you guys noticing any showstoppers on 17.2 or do you feel it's running pretty well compared to the previous release?

I'm seeing a few edge-case bugs in this tread but it doesn't seem to be running too badly eh.
The only thing I’ve seen worth mentioning is the weather widget showing a file icon when it’s snowing, which I’m sure will be fixed in short order.

Does it feel pretty stable otherwise - like okay battery, heat and no crashing?

Runs like a dream in my experience but I’d consider myself a very light user. I’ve had no crashes or noticeable heat issues.

For me, yes. Battery life is pretty good. I have had no crashes. And things just seem to be pretty smooth.
Cool - sounds good to me. I just installed it as you guys seem to be having an okay time. Feels like it might be one of the good ones. Happy days.

I’m seeing issues with the WiFi and the notifications.
Y’know, I think WiFi on iPhones has always had small glitches for me going back as far as I remember. Having to switch into airplane mode and back out to fix WiFi is something I do without even thinking these days. Apple just isn’t the best at stability in this area I think.

It’s not just Apple. I’ve switched between iPhone and Samsung multiple times over the last few years and have the same issues on both phones regarding WIFI. My opinion is that the technology is being rushed because of the demand for more speed. Developing improved tech faster to appease the masses/shareholders isn’t always a good thing if that service loses reliability.

This is an interesting theory. There could be some truth to it. I’d love to have more stable WiFi on my phone, even if it were a bit slower.

Hopefully this will be the case once Apple releases their own in-house WiFi, Bluetooth, and 5G (or 6G) chipset.

Airdrop having a hard time finishing. Been like this for a while now.

Can be it because of the AirDrop over internet? If you have the "Use mobile data" toggle on in the AirDrop settings, then it may have attempted to use the internet for AirDrop if the Wifi signal was unavailable or weak or the Wifi was buggy as many mentioned here before. You may also try to:
- re-connect to your wifi
- restart device
- reset network settings

and see if it helps.
Anyway, if you still face it, then you should report it and share the report ID here, as somebody else can reference it in his/hers report. This is the best we can do as beta testers to help get rid of the bugs before public release

Does it solve the crackling earpiece speaker issue on the iPhone 15 Pro Max? It has been so annoying!
Are you hearing this on your end or is the other person hearing it? I have had at least 1 person tell me they hear a crackling when talking with me, but we were both in cars and I was on CarPlay but her phone (iPhone 13 Pro Max) was connected to her car w/o CarPlay.

Have a new Iphone 15 pro max...I noticed this last night. When I went to do a speed test it just spun staing "looking for provider". I had to switch to 2.4 GHZ from my phone (on my mesh system) then back to 5 GHZ and it worked again. This happened on my Iphone 12 for a short period when I updated to 16.2...I simply don't understand WiFi issues like this....especially since it's standardized.

Also, I noticed Airdrop issues last night when trying to send photos to my wife's Iphone 12 on 17.1.....Not sure if it was my phone or hers.

Would anyone mind checking to confirm that this bug in the Music app is still present in iOS 17.2 (I’m sure it’ll still be there, but I gotta ask):

After you remove an album from your library, the album disappears from the “Recently Played” section in the Listen Now tab. And then, even if you listen to the album again afterwards, it won't reappear under “Recently Played”.

To check this, simply:

• Add any album to your library

• Play a few seconds of a song so that the album appears under “Recently Played”

• Delete the album from your library

• The album no longer appears in the “Recently Played” section. Even if you listen to the album in the future, it will never again appear under “Recently Played”.

Screen started flickering 2 days after installing 17.2 public Beta. No amount of restarts help.

Then it may be a hardware issue and simply a coincidence that it occurred after installing 17.2. But I’d first try doing a reinstall of 17.2. If that fails, I’d revert back to 17.1 and take it in to an Apple Store for inspection.
