This has been an ongoing problem. I’ve had it happen on this beta and previous betas.

Same WiFi hardware in the 14s to 15s…. Unless it’s been made buy a different manufacturer, so what could be the difference?

You would think the software would be pretty similar with maybe a small isolated tweak for the 15s if a change in manufacturer, if that at all.

My head jumps straight back to the obvious difference… the frame. Different batch’s of Titanium could have greater imperfections to meet the high demands and thus creating more frequency problems. (Pure speculation but with all their dev power you’d think something as simple as WiFi wouldn’t be a problem in the code)

It’s quite a mystery: here’s an article featuring evidence that the base 15s include an upgraded X70 modem—but yeah, I’ve not really had any notable hiccups with wifi or cellular performance on my base 15. I exclusively use wifi at home and at work (on a busy, public corporate network).

That makes no sense. Metal blocks wireless signals. Doesn’t matter if it has imperfections or not. That’s why the frame has the plastic antenna lines — to let the wireless signals get through.

Bad batch of antennas... maybe? But frame has nothing to do with it

Or maybe the overheating fried the antennas…

Also: Merry Christmas, everyone! 🫶

In the previous betas, it seems to sync only when you disconnect the Apple Watch. Do you have watch?
Thanks! Yes, I have one. Others have responded the 80% limited charging, and disabling that seems to fix the Mac sync. However, iMazing remains unable to read the logs directory.

I noticed mine wouldn't sync if I had the 80% charge limit set and the battery was already at 80%. Seems the phone "turns off" the USB-C port to prevent charging so it doesn't stay connected.

I have to change that setting to either "none" or "optimized" and the connection is then stable and syncing proceeds as normal.

Not all that efficient, but I suppose that is how they chose to implement that feature.
Thanks! Any idea on iMazing being unable to read the log directory? Mine stopped working with iOS 17.2 RC, even with the WA you mentioned.

This morning my photo app crashed while opening a memory from the Home Screen photo widget. Memory started to load, music was playing, but after 2-3s photo app crashed.
This happened for the 3 third time since installing 17.3b3.

Probably not, but then let’s face it, there is a lot of nonsense on here anyway 😆😂

Unfortunately, I don’t use iMazing so I couldn’t say. My only guess would be that apple changed the perms on the log directory for some reason?

Anyone else not having their card balance being updated in Apple Wallet? Nothing has changed to the cards in the wallet, but the ‘Show balance’ feature has stopped updating on all the cards I have added.

I tried unticking fetch data and deleted activity, but now I can’t seem to turn the feature back on as there is no prompt when I click on the card in Wallet. Very annoying!

Trying to add this feature to my test phone, getting error OBA28. Guessing like me you’re in UK or some other country with Open Banking and that it worked in iOS17.2?

My solution for this was to untick and re-tick the 'Show History' option in the transactions tab when you click on the card you want to see the balance of, it then prompted me to re-connect my bank accounts.

This might not be the same issue you're having, but it fixed the one I had.

Thank you, I don’t think I have got far enough to do that yet. I have set and reset this phone so many tines testing breaking the new security feature I omitted to add any cards til today. Will try again later.

Safari keeps crashing at some sites. And I got a blank page after hitting previous page button. I have to kill the app to see the page.

Did anyone experience touch issues on 17.2? If so, has it been fixed? I find some things don’t respond and I gotta touch more than once or close and reopen (e.g. app store trying to tap my picture).
