ahhh full DFU restore followed by updating to beta 2 during the first setup/restore process resulted in the same frozen loading screen again.....
I'm at a white screen with black apple logo and progress bar. I'm not even sure what this screen means. I'm tempted to just restore it and start as fresh.

I'm so happy that I never found any use for the back tap feature... and that I kept falsely triggering it by mistake causing me to disable it altogether.

possible fix im testing

using IPSW of Beta 2 and Apple Configurator 2 on MBP, drag and drop the IPSW on your phone while in recovery mode, then select the REVIVE option. This should keep your contents and settings and update the OS/firmware.

Stuck as well on 15PM.....how do we get out of this? We can't downgrade back to 17.2.1 can we? Assuming the issues from early 17.0 downgrades in the 15 series are still a thing.
Someone posted steps to delete and stop the update (if you can get to it before it re-springs) otherwise you can try fixing it with Apple Configurator. There are some tools in there that should help you recover.

Away from my Mac since I'm at work so guess I'll have to deal with it later. Downloading 17.3B2 from apple's website isn't working through Apple Devices on Windows.

Yep it installed fine for me 15 PM and I dont have backtap installed. My wife does and it failed on her 14PM
For those with the boot loop issue and have back tap enabled.... has anyone had the issue when updating via IPSW? Trying to see if I was lucky or if it is limited to OTA upgrades...

So if I restore it, set it up as new, install beta 2, wipe it again, and then restore the iCloud backup. That theoretically should work right?

Edit: Nah I can't be arsed really, I'll just set it up as new now.

attempting a repair using apple configurator, data recovery process is happening on the phone, hopefully it works!

Has this been pulled? Installed fine on my 15 PM. Got home and tried to install on my 14, it showed up, then vanished. When I check for software updates again it says I'm already up to date (tried toggling between developer and public beta, and it still doesn't show).
