iOS 17.3 Beta 3 ― Bug Fixes, Changes, and Improvements

There is a glitchy animation for the volume and brightness slider since iOS 17.2
Honestly it’s nothing major but it’s visible. Try it out. Change the volume in control center, switch to podcast app and change volume, then switch it again over the control center to trigger it. You will see a small visual glitch.
It will remain not fixed as many other UI glitches.
But beside these negative things, honestly so far I’m very happy with 17.3 beta 3. It’s fluid and smooth on my 15 Pro and in my feeling the animations are also improved, except the mentioned volume and brightness slider.
Pretty amazing battery life on my 13 Pro Max if you ask me 🤡
I don’t see any performance improvements compared to previous iOS 17 versions. It’s still fine.
I’m also not seeing any bugs with weather app or anything else, except visual glitches on lockscreen that’s been introduced with iOS 16.
As always… the version just was released recently. It makes no sense to judge about battery life 1-2 days after updating.
Please can someone on b3 test car play messages. Mine still doesn’t work. iPhone 15 pro iOS 17.2.1. Haven’t jumped on the b3 yet

I’ve not seen that issue throughout iOS17 and I use CarPlay to send messages every day.Please can someone on b3 test car play messages. Mine still doesn’t work. iPhone 15 pro iOS 17.2.1. Haven’t jumped on the b3 yet

This beta is no different for me.
I just checked the same city on my 15 Pro and I see the snow animation.
Maybe try toggling the reduce motion setting in accessibility (and make sure it's off) and force-close the weather app to see if that fixes it? I doubt it's just a ProMax issue and not affected on the Pro.
Toggled it On/Off and hard rebooted. It is working!

Beta 3 has been working very well for me on both the 15 Pro Max and 13 Mini.
I’ve yet to experience any new bugs and both wireless connectivity and battery life are solid.
If this were the actual release I’d be quite happy.
I’ve also been using the new security features (stolen device protection) and have zero issues. Seems like a good update to me.

Yes Wi-Fi. I have no idea how the iPhone decides on what are Familiar Locations. Trying to turn off Protection asks for FaceID but then imposes the 1 Hour delay which I understood was not necessary in a familiar location. Being a test phone that was originally my main phone I have tried everything I can think of to make it recognise Home as a familiar place, including a complete wipe and QuickStart copy from my main phone. If Significant Locations is the same as Familiar locations (who knows?) then they are not syncing from iCloud like the description suggests. On one Occasion Home was showing as the last significant location and I immediately tried to turn off protection, same 1 hour delay. Not a big problem as in normal use I would not want to turn it off or add trusted numbers etc regularly, but we are supposed to be testing the facility as described.

I can disable protection without the 1 hour delay so definitely seems to be working for me.

Sorry, my mistake. I thought you meant the wallpaper backgrounds. Yes it certainly goes on for longer than I thought in the weather app itself. It didn’t stop after 20 seconds before I closed it.

I didn’t watch mine for more than 10 or 15 seconds. It played all through that. I am watching the starry sky one right now and it is still going after 30 seconds.
