I am seeing a lot of faceID failures on this beta. Happens both when unlocking the device and when opening 3rd party apps that use faceID.

Not all the time, more often than not it will go thru after the first failure but sometimes it forces me to enter the PIN for the device or app.

Done a hard reset but still happened afterwards.

I haven't had any FaceID failures. I'll keep an eye out though.

Hope this is the right place to post this… lost the ability to scroll back through listening history of Apple Music on my iPad (M2 12.9). When I ”pull down” on the Playing Next list, it used to scroll backwards through the songs you’ve been listening to, but now it just pulls the whole Now Playing screen down.
Would someone mind checking Apple Music on their iPad running the beta to see if you can access your history? It works fine on my iPhone 13 Pro.

To be fair, I only installed 17.4 beta because I was experiencing serious problems on 17.3 that I hoped a further update might resolve… it didn’t, but hardware repairs did. as such I’m still stuck on the beta for the time being.

That said, b1 seems to be particularly good to me; perhaps even better than some of the more recent “stable” releases. For that reason I think I’m actually just going to stay on b1 for now. Don’t fix what ain’t broken. Aside from the %20 search web bug and the App Store being slow/laggy. Can’t really complain about much on this one.
Cheer up, my great friend!!! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

My HomeKit appears just fine...

I assume we are talking about the Home app as HomeKit is an API. But I am not clear from the person’s post about what devices are missing: the ones you control via the Home App (lights, thermostats, etc…) or the iOS devices.

Ever since this update, I can’t get the physical volume buttons to work in my car when I use CarPlay. GF is on 17.3.1 and she doesn’t have issues

The ones controlled by the Home App. The App was empty

my HomeKit devices all acted to no response after beta 2 update, found the culprit due to my HomePod mini (main Hub) frozed auto downloading firmware update . All fine now.
Beta 2 fixed my wireless apple CarPlay blank screen connection.

Is anyone else having a problem in Safari where going to Settings, then Safari, and then Clear History and Website Data doesn't work?

To check, log in to your Google account, clear your data, and go back to Google. For me, I stay logged in. It's not only Google, but also my Firefox online account.

Did you clear ”All History” or something else.
iPad Pro - worked for me.

This beta has been a mess for me
- homepods not streaming audio across multiple devices properly
- no response on homekit when hub is set to HomePod
- apple music stops streaming and requires reboot to work properly
- random system crashes and freezes
- wifi signal disappearing/ going out
momentarily

didn’t have any of these on 17.3

seems like they're some serious code changes underpinning Home + Audio/Music. Perhaps due to the new SharePlay music queuing feature.

People complaining about iOS 17.3.1, saying it’s the buggiest release of this major version. People complaining about iOS 17.4, saying it breaks even more things…

Honestly I think I’m gonna wait on iOS 16.6.1 for a good while… the sad part is that I’ll lose Progressive Web Apps on the dashboard if I don’t update to 17.3.1…

Weigh your risks. There are days I wish there was a 16.x for the iPhone 15 …

Been doing some maintenance this weekend .. well, just today.
Running speed tests and both my 15PM and iPad Pro 11 are on this beta. Very low WiFi speeds on both. Not sure what exactly change but far slower than B1. This is both on 5 and 6.

Tested S24U on both and it is consistently high. High on my PC’s too.

See what happens on Tuesday … 🤞🏼

Yes, spellcheck is horrid.

At this rate, you’ll never update even to iOS 18.4.
(It’s not even that bad for daily use.)
