Well, after upgrading to 17.5 RC and logging in, i looked into photos and the app showed something like "Synchronization stopped, iPhone has to cool down!" - never saw this before on the 12 Pro! o_O

I’m having a bunch of network errors after moving to this build from 17.4.1
Some, not all(!) sites fail with a network server error. A few apps won’t refresh or update anymore, some specifically siting a network host error or an error “A server with the specified host could not be found”

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I disabled WiFi to connect to cellular and it wouldn’t disconnect. Neither the quick access or via settings menu would stop it connecting to my home WiFi even though the icon was showing up as 5G.

With all the M4 iPad Pro stuff I completely forgot about the fifth beta (RC) of iOS 17.5

I’m gonna read all the thread to see what are the impressions so far, although maybe it’s too early to tell.

I was out an about earlier right after I updated to the RC today, hard rebooted after that and things got better. I’m home now have on WiFi and all is well. There’s always some indexing and whatnot to be expected. I was just wanting to avoid a Network Reset. All good!

Always good to see zero idle battery drain on the first night of a new update. The last one was good and lost only 2%. This build seems great so far! Performance is spot on with my 15 Pro and it does feel genuinely slicker 👌🏻

Will see how the battery is through today. Hoping for some improvements whilst doing my usual daily stuff.

Noticed the device is way cooler while on fast charge right now.

I am also happy to report that „Find My“ isn’t showing up in my battery stats over night for the first time since 17.4 on my 15 Plus!

...not guaranteed - yet! ;)
The only instance where that won’t be the case is if there is some groundbreaking severe bug found and so far, that doesn’t seem to be the case. 17.5 RC seems solid and even the Find My battery drainage issues appear to have been finally addressed according to member reports here on the forum

The RC is the final release..
I know it is likely to be this RC, but I don’t only install final releases once they are officially launched for everyone. I’m not enrolled on the beta program, I was a macOS beta tester for several years but now I prefer not to be enrolled on them. So yeah, I’m waiting for the official release of 17.5

Wish I could say the same.
Left the 15PM asleep for 10 hours and for 6 of the 10, FindMy shows as a battery consumer with a % but no minutes.
Crazy as I have FM turned off. This has been an issue for a few betas now.

Overall in standby it dropped 8% in battery last night.
