I think between today and tomorrow is the best moment to “pack things up” (I.e. making a backup) from my iPhone SE3 still on 16.6.1, and do a clean install of 17.5.1. If 17.6 turns out to have a great performance and battery life as well, then I can do a second clean install next week with 17.6, in order to stay there for the foreseeable future. Especially seeing how rough the iOS 18 beta currently is (which is expectable).

When my alarm went off this morning and I looked at my phone which was sideways in standby mode, the "Snooze" and "Stop" buttons for the alarm seemed to have a larger, more visible font that's easier to read with bleary sleepy eyes.

So far this is the only change I've noticed.

Well, that means there are still changes happening!

By the way, despite the fact that I’m still on 16.6.1 on my iPhone, I’ve been running 17.5.1 on my M2 iPad Pro for a while. And one bug I’ve encountered (that didn’t happen on iPadOS 16) is that ambient sounds such as ocean or rain, which I use a lot wearing headphones, sometimes stops or gets interrupted just to resume after one or two minutes. That has happened several times already. And no, it is not because of the other content being played. Sometimes it’s triggered by something as random as turning on dark mode.

I still have connectivity issues even on RC version… I was hoping it would be fixed as cellular data was working fine on 17.5.1 and it started to drop connection as soon as I updated to 17.6 B3. It works and then nothing loads and that’s happening every few minutes, it’s really annoying.

Even right now, when I tried to upload screenshots from Twitter, Safari and Reddit that are failing to load, MacRumors forum was also failing to load when I wanted to edit that post.

Modern firmware remains the same as the last couple betas on iPhone 15 models, but has been updated since iOS 17.5.1, worthwhile to update.

RC seems solid for release. No more lags like the last beta. Battery life seems good so far almost a day in.

Anyone else having their WiFi turning On automatically after turning it Off from the control center?

Turns on by itself in less than half hour when it’s supposed to stay off for 24hrs.

I’ve been running the RC on a 15 Pro Max today. Seems good - feels the same as the previous version which is no bad thing.

Since updating to 17.6 RC on my 15PM I’ve been having problems with Safari where tabs go black and crash. This includes new tabs, open tabs & favourites. I’ve left feedback. Anyone else has this issue?

My 15 Pro is getting very warm on occasion while using it since I put 17.6 RC on it. I did not have that before...
