Same with my 13PM, battery was best on IOS 15, it got worse every version of IOS 16. Hopefully better in IOS 17
iOS updates have always worsened battery life, but the funny thing is, Apple actually recommends updating to have the best possible battery life. Hilarious.
The actual physical battery isn't adjusted by software. The calculation is simply software figuring out where the battery is.. so if one has had an iPhone for 7 months and it used to show 100% battery life, it was a miscalculation. No battery stays 100% for months.
I'm thinking battery calculations improved and became more realistic with iOS 17, and besides.. the lower the software reports where the battery is (80%) the faster Apple will be willing to replace it, if one keeps the same phone for as long as it takes to get there
PS - iOS 17 is reporting 89% on my iPhone 14 Pro I purchased last year day one. This year's day one purchase arrives Friday! I expect it to be 100% for three days, and below 90% by the time the iPhone 16 lineup shows up..

Possibly one of the worst releases for battery life. My iPhone 14 with RC (restored twice, from backup and starting fresh) had battery draining like crazy. Downgraded to iOS 16.6 for now, let's hope they fix this mess.
Ive been considering updating my 13PM to ios17 for a while as Im still on ios15.5. I think i will hold off for the sake of my battery. Its great as i can still get 2 days out of it without having to charge.
Battery stats are erratic now, on my 13 mini, with iOS 17. Periods of time have just disappeared from settings. There must have been changes here because the now updated battery alarm app I use only reports intervals in chunks of five percentage units. All in all, I don't experience any worse battery life, so this might just be minor things.
Edit: My 13 mini showed 90 % for a very long time. After a restart it showed 92 %... There is something weird going on here.

Have had this issue since purchasing my 13 Pro. I just ignore it, there is nothing I can do with it. 🤷♂️

If you are running macOS Sonoma and iOS 17, and are using the new widgets on the Sonoma desktop, AND the widgets are "iPhone widgets" (versus Mac widgets), watch out for some noticeable increased battery drain on iPhone. For example, I added an iPhone widget from my favorite snarky weather app (a radar widget) to my Sonoma desktop, and the battery drain on iPhone was noticeable. Fortunately, Settings / Battery / Last 24 hours clearly showed the weather app with a high percentage with "Widget, Background Activity" indicated. Deleting the widget off the Sonoma desktop and sticking to just Mac widgets took care of the battery drain. Just FYI.

I really appreciate that there’s a *separate and pinned* thread on ios 17 (or any other version) and battery life / healthy. Stuff like this is super useful

I’ve seen a sudden improvement in battery life today too. 🤷🏻♂️
Odd that it’s taken a week since installing 17RC to settle down. Hoping 17.0.1 continues to be an improvement, see how it looks this evening. One thing that hasn’t changed is my battery health since starting 17 beta.
I'm not seeing any improvement on my 13 Pro Max after updating to 17.0.1.
All my apps are updated to latest versions and battery life is still as bad as it started to be since beta 7.
In terms of battery life, this phone on iOS 17 is definitely worse than my old iPhone 12 Pro used to be on iOS 14 which should speak for itself

I’ve tried 17.0.1 and I ended up rolling back to 16.6.1 on my 13 pm. Battery life has been once again phenomenal. Can’t say I miss any gesture really.
One things I’ve noticed in 17.0.1 is the find my being always on the battery consumption . Small percentage, but it’s there. This is not happening on iOS 16.
