Well I don’t know if the rc will bring any improvements, but my battery life is really bad on this beta, that coupled with my mega extreme battery degradation and it’s time for a new phone. I was hit with some surprise car trouble this morning which has caused me to shed many tears, as it might eat into my new phone budget, but that iPhone 15 with the larger battery seems to be what I need.

11PM battery is definitely worst on this beta, and that’s going from iOS 16.6 straight to the latest 17 public beta 6. None of the earlier veraions & battery health is only 81%

Current Developer Beta was starting good but now battery life is pretty bad. Don’t know why (14PM).
Getting max 5h to 7H SOT with decent use. This night battery drain over night was pretty bad too. No apps listed that drain. Maybe Apple is running more Background processes than before because soon it’s time for RC!?

One thing I have noticed is that leaving the phone in low power mode overnight seems to at least stop the power drain over that period, so if I charge at night it remains at the same level the next morning.

Yes, same here using low power mode overnight keeps the battery drain to min. Only 1-2% lost whilst asleep.

Battery health finally reached 80%, it just needs to go down to 79% for a free replacement. But what’s the point with the iPhone 15 being announced tomorrow lol

How my days going after installing iOS 17 last night.

iPhone 11 Pro Max with 81% battery health.
The 11 Pro Max was an absolute beast on iOS 13. 3 hours 95-50% extrapolates to... barely 7 hours. Or what I get with my iPhone 6s on iOS 10 with full LTE and light use. History will always repeat itself.

First day on 17 RC with 11PM, woke up to 0% drain overnight so that’s an improvement (always low power mode overnight) Let’s see how today goes.

Might be a bit too early but looks like battery drain on my iPhone 13 Pro Max with iOS 17 RC is NOT fixed at all.
I unplugged my phone at 6am, it's 2 pm and I'm left with 47% with just 2h and 20min SOT.
And 1h of SOT is just Safari.
I'll wait few days but I'm pretty sure nothing will change and if that's the case then that's quite pathetic they'll release it to public.
The whole OS works fine, it's smooth and so on but that battery drain is unacceptable for me with Pro Max phone on a RC release.

11PM on iOS 17 RC, had to put it on charge as going out this evening and 33% isn’t going to be enough lol. Battery health is 81%.

For some reason I can’t seem to reply to your other comment so I’ll reply to this one instead.

It seems like it’s a little over 4 hours 100-33%. About 6 hours on a full charge. I don’t know how your usage was, but for an 11 Pro Max, it’s hours below what I’d expect on iOS 13, sadly. Maybe your usage is too heavy, I don’t know, but at first glance it doesn’t look great.

It’s hard to extrapolate with no information, my iPhone Xʀ on iOS 12 can get 16 hours of light Wi-Fi screen-on time, but with heavier LTE use it can get 11-12.

6 sounds too low regardless, the 11 Pro Max on iOS 13 should be better than my Xʀ, and I’m not getting 6 hours even with full LTE, higher brightness, and heavier usage.

High brightness and massive camera use on my Xʀ extrapolates to about 9-10 hours. That’s probably as low as it can go with my settings on iOS 12. Keep in mind that I’m an efficient user, though.

6 hours on iOS 17 for your 11 Pro Max would only be decent if usage was like that, very high brightness and massive camera use. Honestly, not looking great otherwise.

Battery life has been unusually good today (I’m at 50% with 4 hours and 7 min of SOT), but it could be because I turned off AOD a few days ago? Or the beta I installed yesterday…
