Noticing sporadically that iMessage seems to drop me down to sending text messages until an iMessage comes in from someone. Then I can respond to the message with a blue bubble. But I can then go into another thread with someone I KNOW has an iOS device (and most likely isn’t on the beta wagon) and I will be forced to send via text message.

Cycling airplane mode fixed it briefly.

Gonna hard restart.

Noticed yesterday that my messages (with others on iOS) would drop to test/SMS (text input field would be labeled ”text” and I’d send green bubbles) until that person sent me something. Then I’d be ok for a message or 2 and it would revert back.

I turned on airplane mode for about a minute and also did a force restart and it hasn’t happened since. But I’m watching for it.
Similar iMessages to SMS issues forced me to revert to 16.5. Other than that I was very happy with 17.

Nice! You can't just post that and not let us hear the actual Live Voice Mail. LOL, Just kidding! :p. Glad it works great! One of the most anticipated features in iOS 17! Wish it was introduced before.
It wasn't something you can hear. The voicemail is transcribed for you to read. At least that's how it worked for me.

Anyone got created stickers to send in imessage? Or can you ONLY send them to ios17 devices?

Tried sending from my iPhone XS Max that's running iOS17b1 to my 14Pro running 16.6b2. The created sticker shows up when sent in-line but not when I stick it to a message bubble...

30 days to get a refund, no? Apple are pretty understanding with that kind of thing. Just explain you only wanted it for iOS Dev build testing/personal use.
Apple don't offer refunds on developer accounts, I found this out a couple of years ago. Unless things have changed? I'm in the U.K.

I found a weird little obscure bug on my 14PM.... On my contact card I have my work number set up and I created a poster for myself.... I tried calling my phone from my work number to see what the poster looks like.... But I wasn't able to see any incoming call notification.... The phone was vibrating and and there was a little grey phone on the Dynamic Island, but I wasn't able to click anywhere and pick up the call.

I was however able to pick it up on my watch running WatchOS 10..... I submitted to Apple... But thats a quirky one that I'm sure most won't experience since folks don't call their own phones.

I'm thinking the issue is related to the poster interface somehow.

So per Brandon Butch’s video, you can use your old Apple ID password to get into your account for up to 72 hours after a password change. That is an attempt at addressing the glaring issue of being able to be locked out of your account if your phone + device passcode is stolen.

I think that’s a decent solution overall, though it could just turn into a back and forth game where you and the thief are constantly resetting your Apple ID password. IMO the only true way to fix this is to not allow Apple ID password changes using only the device passcode.

Edit: Oh my god.. I just realized you can also reset an Apple ID Password via the Apple Watch. Who the hell thought this was a good idea?!?

yeah, I just posted this:

However, I also saw an "expire password immediately" box, so if that appears as soon as the password is changed (I've not tried) then it's useless for theft, only in case you want to keep the option of logging in if you forget your new password within the next 3 days.

Edit: Plus the thief could simply change the password twice. I wonder if later betas will refine this.

I want to install but people keep having the issue of storage being reduced by as much as 30g.

Like others have already said, I gained space compared to 16.6.

Found my first bug, 48 MP RAW photos don’t seem to process correctly when viewing in Photos app and they seem to stay at 12 MP when zooming in. The file size is correct and all the data is there because it looks fine on my MacBook running Ventura. Submitted a report

Workaround is to view the photo in another app like Investigator

Yeah I spent like 20 minutes messing with it before giving up and just using my finger to draw the square. I mean, that works, but I really hope they bring back the simpler way to add shapes.
I haven't read to the end of comments, but wanted to make sure you know if you hold your finger down after drawing the square, etc., it'll turn it into an actual shape. Pick the size of the line and color first and you're good to go.

So I know activating Crossfade in Settings -> Apple Music crashes the Settings app but looks like it’s not even activating it.

HAs anyone been able to activate Crossfade?

Is it just me, or does this look like its designed by someone other than Apple?
Yeah that was my initial thought too... it just looks out of place and not inline with the rest of the iOS design language for some reason.

Perhaps a small preview of what the next iOS redesign will look like?

I have the 17 beta installed. This morning I got a message on my iPhone 14 Pro Max that I'm running out of storage space. I'm assuming this is a beta bug? Anyone else get the message.

Does Adaptive Mode also work on the first gen Airpods Pro?

Also, still hoping to see some input on how stable iPad OS 17 is.

From one of the videos just watched, only on latest version of AirPod Pros…thankfully I have those and they finally were updated when I opened this morning.
