Erase and reinstall from the device rather than using an ipsw file and a computer. Generally I always do that after a major update on iOS and android. Gives a smoother experience.

I guess only you can decide if it’s worth it or not. I’ll say that iOS 17 has been fairly smooth so far. Most apps seem to be working with no issues. As you know, that may change in future betas.

I wonder if it’s possible to set it just for certain people??
This is warning YOU that you are about to send sensitive pics. Not the person u are sending to.

[Edit] Correction: It IS both ways. Sending or receiving pics will blur the pic and the warning will come up first.
BTW I read this not tested LOL

So I know activating Crossfade in Settings -> Apple Music crashes the Settings app but looks like it’s not even activating it.

HAs anyone been able to activate Crossfade?

it crashed when activating, but it seems to be working. I was in the car listing to music And there was definitely a crossfade in between songs.

I forget who had this issue but I am able to view yesterday's weather in the Weather app. You tap on one of the rows for daily weather. When the weather page opens up for that day, a calendar displaying a week appears at the top of the page. Simply tap on yesterday's date and you’ll get a summary for the day.
Just curious why anyone would care about the weather forecast for the previous day that you already experienced what the weather actually was? 🤣

Yeah, that wouldn't make sense. But what it shows were the actual conditions (High temp, low temp, wind speeds, etc...). Not something that most will want to look at but it could be handy from time to time.

Weird bug, when I edit home screen. Why those badges appear. 🫣

View attachment 2214497

A follow up weird one...

  • In App Library and switch to wiggle mode.
    • All apps have a grey/black "X" badge on the upper left.
    • All Apple apps have no badge in the Library.
  • Swipe to a Home screen with folders all is normal but you cannot swipe back to the App Library.
  • Apps on a Home screen not in a folder have a grey/black "-" badge instead of an "X".
iPad is the same but you get a blank page when swiping from the Library where the iPhone takes you to a populated page.

I hope they bring always on to standby for non-iPhone 14 pro phones. It’s charging anyway, battery life isn’t a concern.
Yeah, the idea that AOD can't be done on older phones was because of the battery hit (needs a phone that can handle the 1 Hz refresh rate), but when it's on the charger that problem goes away. Maybe those phones that can handle AOD also do some magic jittery type stuff to help with burn-in.

One of the cool things about the Standby mode is that notifications can come through. But only when the phone's unlocked.

My iPhone 11 can't do FaceID when in landscape mode (I believe it needs the 13 or higher).

Have a new one…I think…was walking off my plane, so I switched from noise cancellation to adaptive.

Put the phone in my back pocket as I have done 1,000 times and song started breaking up and skipping…like interference between the phone and my AirPods.

Doesn’t happen in either transparency or noise cancellation mode…weird.

EDIT: thinking this may be an AirPods Pro/iOS17 bug.

Are the Memoji stickers working for everyone? They dont seem to work for me and if you send one to someone not on iOS 17 they dont receive anything.

When phone calls come in and the person is in your contacts with a profile pic, is the pic filling your screen when the call comes in? Did this on 16, on 17 so far, the name is at the top with the small circle pic next to the name. Most of the screen is solid gray with the control buttons at the bottom.
It's Beta and this feature is being expanded....so you will need to wait until later or final release

Couple of "They're Back!" oldies but goodies. Have seen all of these (except spell check) off and on during the 16 betas.

Badge Updates - badges don't update till you open it if you have accessed on another device (no badge updating). Seeing this across several apps.

Notifications - Apple Watch Ultra - even though I ended up repairing and Notifications set to mirror the iPhone, most notification alerts are not coming through to the watch. Messages and Mails are available but trigger no sound or haptic.

Apple Keyboard - yes the spell check has improved (YES!!! FINALLY!!), the swipe still sucks.

Seeing an issue (AT&T) with cell signal. It is doing a lot of swapping between LTE and 5G. At this location 5G is by far the stronger signal. Maybe power conservation issue?

It’s one of the bugs on iOS 17, prob will be fixed in the next beta. Anyone who’s not on iOS 17 won’t see it, same with emoji’s
It's not a bug. There have been other features that simply won't work until the recipient is on the same version of iOS as the sender.

Agree that swipe still sucks. I may nuke my personal dictionary and let it start over to see if that helps. I doubt it.

First bug I’ve noticed and it’s a big one. Text messages frequently not sending, getting “sent fail“notices. Same on both iPhones running 17. Still currently looking into a fix.
