Finally have a big bug that I don't remember reading about in the previous 39 pages.

When trying to locate an item with Find My, it re-springs every time. Is this known and is there a work around? Cheers.

Reporting.

Working here for my MBP, iPad, wife and earbuds. All individually clicked on and found, except the wife.

Playing with Siri on the iPhone: "Siri" without the "hey" works fine. Interestingly, if you ask Siri multiple questions, it now remembers the context from question to question. E.g., If I ask what the weather in New York is right now (smoky...very smoky), Siri will give me the answer. If I then ask, "What time is it there?" Siri knows that "there" is New York and give me the time for New York City.

Its a start!!!

First bug I’ve noticed and it’s a big one. Text messages frequently not sending, getting “sent fail“notices. Same on both iPhones running 17. Still currently looking into a fix.
EDIT: further checking indicates texts are being sent and received on the other end but I’m still getting failure notices on my end. Weird bug. Doesn’t seem to make any difference whether it’s sent as an iMessage or regular sms.
I don’t recall anyone in this growing thread mentioning a messaging issue. At least they seem to be going thru. Might try a factory reset when I get time.

iOS 17 installed on IP 14 PRO Max and works fine, but I found this Bug:

When we move the app to a folder, it shows that there are some notifications that then disappear after moving.

Have you noticed that too?

Been reported a number times with slightly different variations of iMessage/SMS issues. No fix available that anyone yet has found.

Been mentioned a number of times. It caused me to revert back to 16.5. Affected my usage to much.

So I just want to provide an update on the problems I was having.

I was thinking about what I had posted here not too long ago, about how some of us experience no issues with our phones, while some of us keep experiencing all sorts of strange glitches. And how I wondered if my backup which is super old, and may even have some ancient jailbreak related clutter on it, may be the problem.

Last night I installed iOS 17 using the ipsw though iTunes and it was just as bad as ota. So I did it, I nuked my phone, installed a fresh copy of iOS 17, and immediately noticed how smooth everything was and no more reprings or reboots. I had to manually install all my apps, update all my settings, but I think it was worth it. Not only is my phone running cool and not burning hot, it’s running very smooth and I haven’t been able to find any bugs so far. Battery life seems back to normal as well.

It’s actually kind of nice to start over fresh, I had so many old apps I didn’t even use anymore. So my advice for anyone experiencing lots of nasty bugs like I was is to to just wipe your phone and start over, yea it’s a pain and time consuming, but it’s better than dealing with constant show stopping bugs all summer long.

Very interesting! Thanks for the update. Glad you’re back on track now.

Minor issue, or possibly misunderstanding with the iPadOS Lock Screen.
I’ve set the Astronomy Earth background.
however when you look at the Lock Screen the whole Earth image is blurred out. The active background displays correctly once logged in.

Never mind, sorted. It’s the Focus setting!

Calls are good. But I have the SMS issue where the messages are sending but say failed on my end. Driving me up a wall
This is my problem as well. The texts seem to be getting thru but I’m still getting failure notices. Have you tried a factory reset by any chance? Thinking of trying that myself. Annoying as hell this issue.
Happens on both my iPhones running 17

Anyone find a way to get to the 'Music’ in the “Settings” app, after turning on Crossover without the settings app crashing every time? It worked fine but as soon as I turned on that option (which works when playing music) I can no longer access music settings

You are not alone. This has been reported several times here.

I realize it is probably not practical to read through 1000 posts to figure this out. But as a suggestion to others: try to use the search function to see if somebody has already reported an issue. This will save you some typing and everyone else from seeing the same problems repeated over and over again.

I’m aware that I’m not alone. That’s why I wasn’t “reporting the issue”. I was asking if anyone found out a way to fix it (maybe read the first part of my post again for clarification that I was asking a question).

I am finding that apple mail with an .Mac account is not fetching new mail. Pull and refresh, rebooting app etc do not help resolve. Rebooting the actual phone helps, but I'd love to avoid that every time I need to check for new email. ANY workarounds, suggestions ?

It's Beta and this feature is being expanded....so you will need to wait until later or final release

That’s what I thought. Just making sure I’m not the only one. I’m not really sure how this new share profile pic and info is going to work and how it differs from 16.

On 16, when someone called me that I had in my contacts with a picture, the picture filled the entire screen.

On a side note, It’s funny how betas, especially early ones can start off smooth and then get glitchy or buggy a day or two later. I’m definitely seeing lots of glitches today.

Ah, I see. Blinded by the million repeated posts about this issue.

Sorry.

But my point about search remains.
