iOS 17 Beta 3 ― Bug Fixes, Changes, and Improvements

The Home widget on iphone keeps coming up blank. Given the material on the intro “card” presented when Home is opened for the first time on beta 3, I figured this would be fixed. But it’s not.

Does anyone else have anything showing on that widget?

My widgets keep going white. Once I tap it and go back to Home Screen, it’s back to normal but only temporarily.

I just checked, and I’m seeing this too.

Also, when your alarm goes off in standby mode, there’s now two large buttons to snooze or stop the alarm. I didn’t have those in either B1 or B2.

I'm surprised I haven't seen someone post the bug where out of a family of 4, voicemails are going to every one of our phones and it shows the call logs from other devices. Is there a workaround for this?

Are you all on the same Apple ID? If so, the fix is everyone has their own Apple ID. I've seen couples share same Apple ID, and see each other's iMessage. Also keep in mind voicemail is handled by phone carrier, not Apple.

I personally think this is more of a beef with Google and Apple not wanting us to have push Gmail in the Mail App, because this seems like something that could easily been fixed years ago.

I don't use Gmail at all; it's with all providers.

My mail provider does support IDLE (it works perfectly on my laptop - I get mails instantly) but iOS Mail doesn't. It never has.
There has to be a reason for it, but I don't know what it is, so I just keep moaning about it

I had those buttons in b2.

New bug crossfade stopped working. Rebooted phone and now have no wallpapers and the screen slowly loaded up the apps and logos. My Home Screen background is black.

VM/IM is by phone number if I am not mistaken.
I have the same AppleID on two different phones and VM/IM works just fine.

Where you might see an issue is if the IM is being sent to the AppleID instead of the phone number.
If I send an IM to the AppleID it shows up on both devices. If I send it to the phone number it shows up only on a specific device.

Ah, here’s something cool I just found. Don’t know if it’s new for Beta 3 but I haven’t seen anything about it yet.

Safari now seems to translate texts in images when using the translate Webpage feature.

Wow that’s awesome, nice catch! Looks like it also tries to do video captions, the captions move too quickly for it to keep up, but you can pause the video to see it. Works in a pinch.

I’m noticing new “no internet” error pages. Seems each one is tailored to the theme of each website (unless left blank by the site? Google shows the default Safari message).

This is new, right? Try it out by toggling your internet off.
