I have no idea how Apple's WiFi engineers can be so utterly incompetent. This beta still has the issue where my iPhone 13 Mini refuses to roam between access points after being connected to an 802.11r-enabled network for at least 30 minutes. I've been reporting this issue for well over a year now. Apple did get back to me at one point and said that their engineers determined the issue to be caused by my specific access points and that I should contact the manufacturer. This turned out to not be true because I got help from a WiFi professional on Twitter that was able to reproduce the same issue on his enterprise level access points. I submitted another bug report in Feedback with links and screenshots to the Twitter thread, but Apple ignored it.

In Maps they added a button to transition the driving directions to walking directions next to “end route” button. This way you don’t have to stop your directions and start another one using walking if you were to get out of a vehicle. Nice touch 👌🏻 New Yorkers will appreciate this.
Love this. Can't wait to see if it's also available with transit directions; always need to walk after getting out of the subway!

Yeah. My 14 Pro Max and all other iPhones in our household don’t roam correctly between two Asus GT-AX 11000 Pro AI Mesh routers. iPhone stubbornly remains connected to previous router even if the other is in front of me and Wifi signal drops to 1 dot. I switch off wifi and back on, and it connects to nearest router. Only when the previous router is out of range, it connects to the other. Highly infuriating and renders my mesh almost useless.

We also have a dirt cheap Pixel 6a which not only does 160Mhz channel width on 5Ghz for that sweet 2400 Mbps link speed, it roams seamlessly between my two routers. Here Apple insists to use 6Ghz band to be able to utilize 160Mhz channel width for 2400 Mbps link.

Since our foolish Indian govt is joining hands with equally foolish Australian govt to give 6Ghz band to greedy Cellular operators at premium price, we will never have Wifi6e/7 here. We can never reach Gigabit speeds on our Apple devices only because Apple refuses to do 160Mhz width on 5Ghz. 🤬👿

People: unless the system data is truly out of control, we really don’t need to see screenshots.

Sorry if this little screenshot disturbed you. Didn’t thought that it can be so bad. I’m not all day here and didn’t see more screenshots like mine.

Is there no longer a way to share Apple Music song lyrics in this beta? Seems to have been removed…

No issue here….

Have no idea what that means.
It's an old dig at Android. Early on (and in the early LTE days) the battery would die really quickly. Now it seems like apple is going toward that while android doesn't skimp on the battery anymore.

We need a pinned thread that perpetuates through each iOS board, with your full instructions on, and we can just link people to it anytime someone asks. 🤓

Very True.

But I don’t have the time to manage it. Even with my instructions written for a 5 year old to follow, people still miss read, don’t read, or can’t be bothered to read and it’s loooooong sometimes trying to help.

Had that on B4. It went away after a couple of restarts. Not had it yet on B5 though.

Because they are adding the new live voicemail feature, I’d expect things like this to keep popping up until release whilst on these beta.

EDIT
This just happened to me after i'd made a call.
Deleted all old messages.
Cleared them.
Badge gone!
I sorted it by changing my region back to United States, eventually the voicemails appeared. Deleted and badge gone and set myself back to the UK.

Would have driven me nuts seeing ‘3’ on the phone app otherwise 😂

curious if it’s possible to change the layout of “buttons” for when a call comes in. Not a big fan of “end call” being placed on the far right and some others. I know sometimes these things are hidden, but are doable, just haven’t seen anything about it yet.

I’m left handed and is a pain to end a call when using my phone one handed.

I’d say betas 7 and 8.

But I just had to pick up a MagSafe battery pack so I don’t run out while on vacay.
It’s reports like this that make me worried about taking the PB3 plunge on my primary device. I’ve been playing with the DBs on a secondary device, but my primary is still on iOS 16.6 for stability! :)

I read it is possible to ask Siri to end a call, that might not be the best solution, and it would presumably sound weird to the other person, but you could try asking Siri.

Also I wonder if it works if you mute your microphone first so the other person can’t hear you asking Siri to hang up on the call?

What would you say if I told you that the first 16 beta was better than the last 16.6 beta that I was on? 🤣
