It’s not coming with 17.0, so you can stop expecting to see it in a beta or the RC.

Apple announced it would be later this year, so will be 17.1 or 17.2 around November/December. Same as when they’ve said this about other features in previous years.

Even their preview page says later this year.
To be fair though, the preview page just says “later this year”, ios17 is later this year

Thank you very much @Banglazed. Weekly beta's have begun!!! 🔥🔥🔥

It's huge. A whole lotta love of DB5 😅

anyone have an issue with notifications not coming up when the screen is locked? I have my 14 pro max on a magnetic wireless charger locked, and previous to the betas the notifications would appear on my screen around the same time I would feel a vibration on my watch. Now I either have to touch the screen to get them to show up or just wait until they appear at some point later

I am not on the beta (yet), but expected behavior is that if you're wearing the watch, notifications only appear on the watch. The iPhone screen shouldn't light up in parallel. It only does that in those rare cases where the bluetooth connection between watch and phone is lost and they communicate via wifi, then sometimes it still does light up. But the correct way is: if your watch is on, the iPhone screen won't light up when a notification arrives.

Since dev beta 3... both my iPhone and iPad keeps reminding me to verify the recovery key for iCloud encryption, I type the key and the message disappears, but it keeps appearing again, in beta 3 was in matters of minutes, now in Beta 5 it is instantly, anyone else have the same issue?

Yes, but you’re ignoring the context, which I’ve re-iterated in my post.

It only says it against that feature specifically, rather than against every other one. Plus, in the keynote, the context is clearly that it’s not with 17.0.

As I said, every time in the past few years Apple has put ‘later this year’ on a feature, (for example Freeform) it’s meant it’s come with x.1/x.2/x.3.

Usually you have to give the phone some time to re-index and other processes that go on in the background after an update.

I wish Apple popped that message up after install of a beta, would save the many posts after new beta install from being made.

I am seeing a few issues with iCloud on this beta. iCloud storage doesn’t show anything and when selecting manage storage it says verification failed. Also, doesn’t appear in my case that iCloud Photos are syncing changes either.

edit: never mind on the storage, it just started resolving itself. Apple might be doing some tweaks on the backend. Will keep an eye on iCloud Photos.
iCloud photos are syncing again.

just got this “do more with iCloud” message.

BTW, my messages app says that I have 94.6 GB of iCloud storage used up. And when checking on it, it just states that only 17.42 GB is my Top Conversations.

When checking iPhone storage and messages app, it shows that only 3.13 GB is used up of my iPhone storage.

I’ve been having this discrepancy since beginning of beta 17.

You just click on the big artist picture and it shrinks down to the player window. To make it big, just click on the same (now small) artist picture on the player window and it will pop out big. This behaviour is the same as in iOS 16.
Thanks! Not using the iPhone, so… didn’t know any of this for iOS 16. But I don’t believe this was an option for iPadOS 16… now that we have redesigned Lock Screen.

it doesnt light up, but the "always on" screen used to put the notification on the screen pretty quickly on iOS 16

"The operation couldn't be completed" is still happening when I try to set a live voicemail greeting. I reported it last beta but now I'm wondering whether it's a carrier or Apple issue.

Are you using any kind of custom DNS profile / adguard? Only asking because this was interfering with my carrier voicemail and I had to add an extra exception to make it work.
