Found a bug in Messages that has to do with Stickers, unsure how long it’s been there in iOS 17 beta. Deleting a sticker app from the list deletes the entire app and its data from the OS.

Feedback ID: FB13094278

To reproduce it,

  • Open Messages app
  • Go to a message
  • Tap Stickers
  • Go to Edit at the far right
  • Opens is the menu of apps that use stickers
  • Tap Edit
  • Tap the - symbol to delete the sticker
  • It deletes the app entirely from the OS, not just the sticker from the sticker menu
Anyone else notice this? It wasn’t like this on iOS 16.

That's only sticker apps. It doesn’t delete apps with stickers. It's been that way.

The bug I occasionally see in Notes, where lines of text overlap is still there. I reported again. It looks like this:

It deleted the actual app from my phone though. Not just the sticker app 😭 I was shocked when I went to check the weather network and Reddit and the app was deleted from my Home Screen too. Should only be the stickers right?

I'm a little confused. Some apps with stickers do nothing else. Just stickers. And some apps, like ESPN or Dropbox, offer iMessage stickers. But they can't be deleted in iMessage. The others, that are only sticker apps, can be deleted. When you delete those, you're deleting the app. What is the app in question? If you don't mind.

please, someone tell me that ios 17 battery is better than ios 16

it’s so horrible on iOS 16 (14 Pro Max)… everytime I download a new update it gets better but then it gets worse again

I can’t tell about 14 Pro Max because i have 13 Pro Max but for me battery is definitely worse than 16.6, like a lot worse.
I’d say I’m easily getting more than 2h of SOT less than iOS 16

This is my lock screen right now and yet people have audacity to say that the lock screen and notifications work perfectly fine and bug free on iOS 16 and 17 and are pressed when you tell and show them what’s wrong with them.
Even YouTubers say that they didn’t fix some of the bugs that are happening with the lock screen in iOS 17.
But I mean yeah, it clearly does work pretty well, for some people.

But on a positive note - it feels really smooth, I’d say it’s even smoother than iOS 16.

You definitely have an issue. But I can assure you that 99.9% of users do not have this issue. So, from a statistical standpoint oint, it is not unreasonable for it to be said that the lock screen and notifications are working fine.

If we approached this the way you are suggesting, we could never say anything is “working “ because someone, somewhere has an issue with any given feature.

As @anssth suggests, the best thing to do is report this. Your should also consider reinstalling iOS to see if that fixes your issue.

In reality, no comparison of iOS 17 battery life vs iOS 16 battery life will be meaningful until the iOS 17 Release Candidate is released in 11 days. Until then, the iOS 17 betas are burdened with logging and other analytical behavior that will drag on the battery in ways that iOS 16 is not.

Any advantage in speeds with 4g LTE or 5G from iOS 16? Or not really?
I can’t answer that, as I don’t get either of those where I live, really, just standard 4G.

I suspect it will be the same, as don’t think any iOS update would change that, but I may be wrong.

Thank you.

anyone does see the same bug with weather app - on my lock screen I used to see the real location plus weather. I mean street name. With beta 8 it's only the city name or sometimes it just says the country. Permission have been set for use of location with weather app and widget

My battery life is awful. I have issues and have booked a replacement, but it drains with absolutely no real reason. I am charging two to three times a day even with light usage.

I see my home village and county now with precise location on. Always used to only see the village name!

Ran into a bug with the batteries widget. It shows my AirPods case constantly at 28% charge no matter what. It also shows that both of the AirPods are at 0% charge.
