One has to be careful when playing with the new ring/message tones as the old ones are still valid, but if they've been removed from the list you won't be able to get them back.

For example, in the "Sounds & Haptics" area I have Calendar Alerts set to "Ripples" but clicking on it, it defaults to "None". So I back out.

That is weird. I haven't seen it glitch with that consistency.

Not mentioned earlier - but default Reflection ringtone has been kind of remixed and sounds a little different, I'd say I liked previous version much more

I know I’m picky but when opening the radar on the weather app and clicking done on the top left and cycling through that shows stutters all the time. It’s kinda of annoying lol is it just me or is it happening for everyone else? I have a 14PM.

I can’t say for sure (as I’m not 100% sure where your stutter arises) but it doesn’t seem to be happening to me.

If you’re just noticing it today, it may be because you just installed the iOS 17 RC. Lots of background processes going on with that.

Am I mistaken? I thought that in standby mode that the screen was not supposed to go to sleep when connected to a charger?

Not sure but the setting I’ve highlighted below may be new to the RC. In any event, make sure this is toggled the way you want it

Mmm, I missed that there are two always on settings. One under display and one under standby and they appear to work independently of each other.

I’m pretty sure the “Always On” one is new. The Night Mode one was definitely there during the beta. I’m guessing the Always On one is to prevent screen burn in especially if you walk away from your desk (or wherever you have the phone docked). No reason to keep it on then.

The new sounds and ringtones are not in the macOS RC yet. Watch is still updating. Would be weird if you can't set them to the same ones on all devices.

The new ringtones are really good! Hard to choose a favorite but I’ve settled on Radial for now. Don’t love the new alerts as much.

Open the weather app. Click the radar so it opens full screen. Then on the top left click done and it closes the radar’s full screen mode. Keep cycling that, click the radar then done then radar then done and you will start to see a stutter as the radar goes into full screen and then exits from full screen.

Because this is something a normal person is going to be doing. 🤨

Yes, I have quite a few custom ringtones synced and was able to use them before for ringtones or alert tones. iOS 17 only recognizes them as ringtones now, can’t access them for alerts.

I updated to the RC when it first released a couple hours ago. Once it finished and booted up it offered beta 8 to me again. Now I have a 1 on my settings and it says I have a software update available even though I am on the RC and when I go into Software Update it says I am on the latest. I have turned off beta and rebooted but I cannot get the 1 to go away. Any suggestions?

lol. It might be something but it’s not something that will concern 99.99% of users. That’s like saying “I threw my phone at a brick wall and it broke”.
