Out of curiosity, I did a little googling, and found a few places that point out that people that report feedback while on the Apple seed beta seem to get more attention on their filed feedback as opposed to folks that are on the Developer channel or the public beta. Whether that is true or not remains to be seen, as I’ve been on the Developer beta for many years and have seen zero response or acknowledgment on any feedback I’ve filed since before 2019. I switched one of my Macs to the Apple seed beta setting and I’m sure I’ll file some more feedback soon. Let’s see how that goes.
Usually Appleseed involves donotreply@apple messages sent on a regular basis that concern some group participation for particular software Apple is looking to test and they thought you were a good candidate because of regular feedback on what they are working on. It starts with an invite. I participated for several years on some things.

RC next week then, if this is true about the 24th as a release date...

I suspect it is true.

But the better news is that it means that 17.2b1 may drop on 10/25! That’s going to be the one with the juiciest new features.

To think, there were people adamant there’s no way it would release in October!
While beta 3 added the iPhone 12 SAR fix and tweaked the behavior of the action button on the new iPhones 15's, its still a WIP against battery life, overheating issues that should be vetted with another beta 4. That makes the release about 1 week later in Oct. Guess we shall see in 3 days.

Yeah, I posted that mostly in jest as Gurman has weighed in that there would be no iPads this month. Looks like just Apple Pencil 1, part 2. Lame.
It’s too soon. The time gap from M1 into to M2 intro was 18 months 27 days. Today is 16 months 11 days. Jan 2nd 2024 is the same time gap for M3 to show up, suggesting that’s the approx when to expect some new SoC announcement. But really late Oct, into Nov is still good for M2 based products as possibilities. Today we have this beta 4 vs RC based on French site rumor. Something will show!

I would suspect RC today given Apple has already stated "by Oct 24 " (next Tuesday) for a release.
