iOS 17 Speculation Thread

Wasn’t 17.1 RC 2 released on a Friday? So it’s possible. But more likely next week.
Big fixes and second release candidates (aka bug fixes) are the most likely things to be released on a Friday.
But not this Friday!

But nothing was pushed out.
Doesn’t matter. There was still a chance. You can’t come out and say there is no chance… You simply don’t know, along with the rest of us.
Sometimes smaller updates such as 16.7.2 is distributed as a RC a week before but sometimes there is no sound at all and its just being released like 16.7.1 (no RC).
Could it be related to what security flaws that's been patched and they don't wanna reveal it when there's no RC.
Having that said, 16.7.2 had a number of fixes so that doesn't apply either.
Hopefully 17.1.1 will get an RC, its good to get an idea from the public before distributing it within a company.
Currently looking at moving all my users to iOS 17 (easier admin) and think iOS 17 has matured enough now to be pushed out within the company.

16.7.2 was released a week in advance as an RC. But that included more security fixes than correcting bugs in functionality if I read through what its supposed to fix.
I can say that. Regardless of whether I knew or not. It’s my opinion.
Whatever happened to the rapid security response thingy
they seem to only come out with the .1 updates like 17.1.1. I'm guessing we get that then a rapid security response 2 weeks later

Probably not actually “everyone” everyone was probably the wrong word. I meant it more like “y’all”.
17.1 is a mess compared to 17.03. Lockscreen on 15 pm is a disaster, especially when you change wallpaper or play with widgets.

The consensus is that we will see beta 2 on Tuesday or Wednesday.

I’m really hoping that at some point in this build (or maybe a future one) they expand the AirPlay Receiver setting for all Apple devices, such as iPhone to iPad. It seems so close, it looks exactly like the AirPlay Receiver setting on macOS, only currently it doesn’t work with devices other than the Vision Pro as far as I’m aware. But AirPlay Receiver like Mac’s version on the iPad would be an absolute game changer! 👍🏻

doubt it on monday we see how they like to play games with the point releases. My guess is they give it to us at the very last minute on Thursday
