Siri issues ….

Watching some YT vids using device speaker(s) and words will trigger Siri. Get the goofy edge glow and the volume drop by 75% or so.

No idea what words are doing this. Latest was watching the Dodgers / Mets highlights On iPad. Prior to that was a Teams call on 15ProMax.

Yeah, my experience today would make me want to downgrade back to 18.0.1. Yesterday though, it was totally fine on B7! Would love to know what sparked the change.

Something that was fascinating though is that a timer I had going on my phone survived one of the crash reboots!

Yeah, iOS 18 has been an odd release without a doubt. Wild how it can change from day to day.

The timer made it, that is wild.

I went back and replayed the same YT vid. First time all was good. The second time … see attached

Went to hard restart my phone again to see if it would be any better… rebooted to this. Can’t win with this beta.

Wow they finally fixed Control Center in landscape.
Previously there was a mess (random order) and media playing widget was missing. Now it’s looking like good old iOS.

Plus new bug, after taking screenshot edit mode toolbar is not loading at all. Sometimes also not load in Photo app.

This beta broke CarPlay for me in my BMW X3. The phone connects normally (by Bluetooth and WiFi) when connected by iDrive but when I toggle to CarPlay mode, the Bluetooth “fails to connect”.

Is there a way to get the IPSW file if you are on Public Beta? My constant crashes are continuing and my life is full of regret over here ha.

Thinking if I can get the IPSW, I will try to reinstall the Beta. If not, I will downgrade back to 18.0.1. Hoping to not have to restore to 18.0.1 as my encrypted backup for it is from around the time of B5 or B6 :/

Not any way people can share in these forums without violating the rules. Suggest you sign up for the free Apple Developer program. Then you can get it legitimately (and safely) from the Apple Developer portal.

Is anyone noticing that preview summaries in Mail are hit and miss? I have yet to see it on my iPad Pro (M1), and it works most of the time on my iPhone but sometimes no summary at all.

16P here. Beta 7 started off pretty darn stable for me, but has absolutely nose dived today. I have had probably 8 resprings today, primarily in messages, and 3 total phone shutdowns. Oh, and cellular stopped working for awhile! Hoping 8 will be closer to B6...

Side note - There is a shockingly high number of UGA fans in this single thread.

Sure do! 4 from yesterday, and 2 from this morning.

I did just notice that the "Enhanced Beta Feedback" was disabled on my phone. Turned that on since this has been so problematic.

Had to restart the backup process on the phone before I attempt to reinstall via IPSW.

TBH, this was the first time I have checked the log list on the 16P. But I can say that I never had KP total shutdown experience like this on the 16P until yesterday afternoon, so I would imagine the panic-full was not there? I had the 16P on 18.0.1 stable, then went to 18.1 B6, then B7.

Good point, I had turned it ON at B1 of iOS 18 and somehow it was turned off by now. Weird, no idea why it disabled itself.

You might have to forget the connections and re-pair. It sounds like it is also paired for Bluetooth audio, or it wouldn't be mentioning Bluetooth at all. CarPlay uses Bluetooth for discovery during pairing, but the connection is a private Wi-Fi network.

That said, my wireless CarPlay has been unusable for the last few betas and I have gone back to wired, so it just might take another beta or two to work out the bugs. Mine's aftermarket Pioneer and the mic only works on wired, but if I go wireless and turn on voice control to use the iPhone's mic, the whole system crashes and disconnects frequently. Plus the audio seems to be skipping, like the wireless connection can't buffer the stream fast enough. Not worth the headaches.

Carplay works fine with my bmw.

Well maybe expect the bug iOS 17 introduced for me that some navigation apps are not opening up automatically and I have to force close them and open again on my phone. But that’s happening maybe 4/10 times and I got used to it 🤷🏼‍♂️
Of course there’s no problem with Apple Maps lol

Not only people on Betas are replied by Apple - had it twice on public version after my report to get more details or check something else.

Edit: I think it’s not very popular to Apple to reply to feedback but never take it personal if they don’t message. Each report is analyzed, they try to group similar / same feedbacks and it can take looong time for stuff to be fixed / corrected or implemented after suggestion. Sometimes several years if ever
