It has to stay as English US. You can change it back, but it will disable the AI features and the new Siri interface. Then you can update the settings back, if you want to (you won't be asked to get enrolled for a second time).

No it has to stay as US, although you can change the voice to British.
Attempting to use Clean Up to but it just stays there downloading clean up, it’s been 10 minutes with no progress in the download progress bar. 
I think it only downloads over WiFi.
Thx. Apple being Apple stuck on their dated rules of WiFi only despite how available 5G is nowadays. At least ask me if I wanna download. 🙄
Did the hearing test and my hearing loss is in the low single digits. Who knows how accurate that is, but it doesn’t surprise me because I’ve always thought my hearing was pretty good.
I was 6L & 12R which doesn’t surprise me since my right ear is a little stuffy.
Where do you find the hearing test, i am on 18.1 now and airpods just updated but cant find it, wonder if its region restricted i am in the UK
I think you need the latest AirPods beta
There’s articles online now to do it, but I don’t feel comfortable sharing how to do it here because if the AirPods get bricked, there’s no way to fix it or downgrade. So it’s risky.
Yeah, just trigger the camera control UI from within the Camera app and then quickly close the app.
4L and 7R for me, but I got distracted a couple times when I did the right ear. So I might do the rest again. But also, my right ear is slightly stuffy.
Got the latest update on the AirPods that came out just now but cant see how you would start the test, is it in settings - got a feeling this maybe a US only feature for the time being
I believe this is the intended behavior. The automatic mode for icons changes automatically only depending on whether you have light mode or dark mode enabled for the entire UI.
