I am finding tonight that the ChatGPT integration is better. I asked it to create an Apple script for me and it was able to do it this time. Yesterday when I tried this, it just sent me to webpages just like Siri would have in the past.

Anyone else having a problem with the default mail app freezing and not getting emails? My Gmail app is getting emails that the default mail isn’t getting for the same gmail account.

You try refreshing in mail? Just in case you weren’t already aware, Apple mail does not support push for Gmail accounts.

Yep I know. I’m talking about manually getting emails. Like I check the default mail app and it says I have no emails. Then I open up the Gmail app and like 20 emails come in. It’s weird. Also the categories thing isn’t really working. Sometimes when I put the app in list view, they’ll show up after I’ve gotten them to come in in the Gmail app. I know it’s beta so hopefully it’s just that, and they get it to work great because I really like it.

Hmm. I have a separate issue for now, though they could be related or my issue could morph into yours, but the badge icon for the mail app is hilariously inaccurate right now.

Am still surprised that hidden apps don't have their own section or labelled as "hidden" in the Battery usage area as it does in the Phone Storage area.

Apologies. I checked on this before posting and couldn’t find anything! Does it seem that launching apps in iOS 18.2 beta 1 on an iPhone 16 pro max a bit slow? I mean when you click an app which is not in the background, the transition that brings it to full screen seems different and slow a bit. Thoughts?

As soon as I get image wand I’m going to try it out on this masterpiece to see what it can do.

Yeah, I can’t even enable the categories view because it just totally freezes up. List view seems to work pretty good though. 16 Pro.
Yeah same here. Categories are not working for me at all. When I choose a category I just see all my emails. Or the entire list goes blank…. Pulling down to refresh just gives me the little spinner and nothing happens. Just going to stick with list view for now

Anyone else they got rid of the fold for attachment types in messages? I used to have only Photos, Camera and Location in the "favorites" part with the other junk under the fold but now it's all lumped together. Not a good look.

Anyone know what this live activity is for? Phone forced a respring (lol) then it showed up as I unlocked it afterwards. Tapped/long pressed on it and it did nothing unfortunately.

There is definitely something up with the approvals into Image Playgrounds etc...

I updated 2 M series MacBook Pros, an m4 iPad Pro and a 16 Pro Max. One of the Macs has been accepted into the Image Creation beta. I can open Image Playgrounds and make images. Those images sync to the other devices, but on all the rest it still says "Access Requested" You cant edit or create them on those devices. All 4 devices are signed into the same developer Apple Account.

So odd....but then again so has the entire 18.x beta cycle LOL
That IS odd, since - as far as I can tell - you request approval per account, not device. When I requested approval on my iPad, it automatically showed the same on my iPhone and Macs - assuming this is because they’re all tied to the same Apple ID.

I’m not too pressed over it, honestly… it’ll come when it comes.

So using this they didn't make Siri smarter, she just hands off your request to Chat GPT.?
