Okay, seriously… I feel like I’m going crazy.

Does anyone remember them (Apple) announcing a new camera feature in iOS 18 during the Keynote where you take a photo of a document and it intelligently (AI?) snaps a few and removes shadows? It worked for a brief bit earlier this summer, but then it just stopped. Not only that, I can’t find any mention of the feature anywhere - including the keynote.

I. Did. Not. Dream. This.

The Duolingo widgets (both the lock screen and the regular 2x2 widget) seems be broken on my iPhone 15pro after updating to the latest Duolingo 4.74.0.

(It wasn't broken when I installed the iOS 18.2 beta, so I'm pretty sure it was the last Duolingo update that broke it.)

That’s the improvements to document scanning. Can be triggered through the files app or (I think) in notes.

Okay… at least I know I’m not crazy for remembering something along those lines. I thought it was simply in the camera app, though, and intelligently did it when it determined a document/form was being photographed. 🤔 I’ll check out Files and Notes. Thanks!

Hope much do you want to bet that it comes to the Visual Intelligence “system”?

”The camera intelligently knows if you are scanning a document, fixes it for you and files it the correct folder. All with the single touch of a button!”

Trying the hearing test if you don't have the feature:

https://www.reddit.com/r/iphone/comments/1ghacwl
Just a couple of hours ago, my girlfriend set the hearing aid function up for her father. He apparently has severe and profound hearing loss, so all Apple would do is refer him to an audiologist.

So, my girlfriend cheated the test a bit by taking the test herself with his Airpods Pro. She got the test to diagnose him with hearing loss, but not so much that the hearing aid function wouldn't kick in.

The result was that he was absolutely thrilled with the results, with increased hearing ability. He was one happy man!

This is a weird one, after a few hard reboots, my home screen is stuck on some weird dark/tint/sleep focus mode.
Any ideas how to fix, I've played with focus modes, wallpaper setting.

edit:it was stuck on Sleep mode, had to deep dive in the sleep settings into Health and toggle various switches

So I’ve just rewatched the iPad Pro Keynote from May. It was mentioned as part of the camera improvements for that device so think it may be M4 iPad Pro specific.

If it at least handles the primary portion - removing shadows, auto-aligning, etc. - I’m sold.

Cheers I knew how to do that I thought Apple Ai had something similar.
They do, it’s called Visual Intelligence but only works on the iPhone 16 / 16 Pro phones cause it needs the camera control button.

“Long press the Camera Control button to get to Visual Intelligence, and then point your iPhone at something.”

I hope Apple lets iPhone 15 Pro users able to make the Action Button an option for it, maybe the button will get more use.
