Just a couple of hours ago, my girlfriend set the hearing aid function up for her father. He apparently has severe and profound hearing loss, so all Apple would do is refer him to an audiologist.

So, my girlfriend cheated the test a bit by taking the test herself with his Airpods Pro. She got the test to diagnose him with hearing loss, but not so much that the hearing aid function wouldn't kick in.

The result was that he was absolutely thrilled with the results, with increased hearing ability. He was one happy man!

Great story.
Glad his quality of life has improved.

Just read it from “known issues” on 18.2 b1:

AirTags, AirPods, and third-party Find My-enabled accessories: The Play Sound and Precision Finding features might not work. To fix this, enable the Location Services logging profile in Profiles and Logs”

Dammit. It’s exactly what is happening with me. 😡

They do, it’s called Visual Intelligence but only works on the iPhone 16 / 16 Pro phones cause it needs the camera control button.

“Long press the Camera Control button to get to Visual Intelligence, and then point your iPhone at something.”

I hope Apple lets iPhone 15 Pro users able to make the Action Button an option for it, maybe the button will get more use.
Does visual intelligence work on existing photos ? Best I got so far is asking it “what’s this ? “ referring to what’s on my screen.

YES!

Hell hath unfrozen!
Monkeys are flying out of my butt!
I just bought the Brooklyn Bridge!

I was surprised that I was not "notified" that I was let in, like I was led to believe I would be from some screen shots I've seen. I just went into Image Playground the other night and it started working.

Has anyone else encountered this bug?

Whenever I text a short code number, Messages app immediately crashes. When I tap the reply notification to see the automated response, Messages app crashes again.

FWIW where I live you can text the transit short code with the stop number and receive back a short list of the next times scheduled.

This may be a silly reply, but have you rebooted your phone recently?

It’s more than that.
I updated 2 hours after drop, have a paid dev account, and am still “requested”.

Not sure what the criteria is.
then it sounds like its completely random to keep things as fair as possible lol

Perhaps it's based on more than one criteria 🤷🏻‍♂️. I waited to install 18.2 beta until I had my new iPad mini 7 on release day as I didn’t want a first beta on my daily and it just dropped for me today. Maybe a combination of timing, geography, and device type are variables. I sincerely doubt it's just random but we're only guessing at their criteria formulae.

Well, I was really surprised to see it show up on a Saturday morning. I had resigned myself to maybe seeing it in the second beta release.

You got it because it’s obviously independent of the beta releases. You might have gotten it at 2am. Servers don’t sleep.

Grab screenshot recording, edit video (shorten, crop, etc.), Save As new clip, app crashes… anyone else?

Feedback reported last week, just wanted to see if others here could replicate.
