Apple Intelligence is now 3.22GB, up from 2.6 GB.

It almost seems like the “new” Siri is there now. I asked her a question about when to plant tree spikes and I know the “old” girl wouldn’t have any idea! 😆🤷🏼‍♂️

This could go for latest 18.1 beta as well as the 18.2 beta concerning the Hearing Aid functionality in the AirPod Pro 2's..

I took the hearing test and it told me that I only had "minimal to no hearing loss." (I'm lowkey ok with this since I am 57 years old. 😀) so I didn't bother turning on the hearing aid functionality not thinking it would help me. (I have problems hearing conversations in noisy environments or if there is background noise such as a fan or even this space heater I am sitting in front of..

My mistake! I turned it on today out of curiosity and it's like night and day for my issue. I can still hear everything around me but it boosts conversational frequencies I guess. (probably the ones it showed me missing in the test.) Seems to work better for me than the "conversation awareness" feature.

So, if you have difficulties hearing conversations, I highly recommend at least trying this feature.

I don’t know why it’s not in the EU, but it doesn’t require Apple Intelligence.

In addition to that I can disable AI and still get the categories, you can also check Apple’s own iOS 18 new feature .pdf document, and the mail categories are not listed with the Apple Intelligence features.
Today's Apple is arbitrary; some get stuff, others don't.

Exciting! Was not expecting it this week.

Seems like I can’t even enjoy a few days on a “stable” release 😂

Download seems quite slow - it says 2 hours…

Also saw this in the release notes, in case someone experiences it freaks out.

Wow, this seems like a showstopper. Weird they let the beta go out with something so fundamental broken

Interesting... I thought AI was required in order to sort the emails in to categories.

It’s using AI as in using machine learning, but no the mail categories don’t require anything more advanced.

I mean, Google and others have been doing it server side without generative AI long before GenAI became a mainstream thing.

If you want to see all mail without having to change from categories to list view you can just swipe on the categories to reveal an All Mail filter (that you can then also use to mark all as read)
